I missed this thread first time around, so thanks to @BenCotto for recycling. Lots of hard graft been poured into these beautiful transformations by everyone. I tend to think of 'the garden' in terms of as a series of different areas which I have been working and developing since we moved in 2018. Rear top garden April 2018 and this morning the large Laurel was removed (that was a task!) to improve outlook from conservatory. The existing slabbed area relaid and extended to form new seating area bed. New grass island at far end of garden created last year to enable me to create a new rose bed adjacent lower patio. More to follow...
A great transformation @TheGreenMan, very appropriate to your username!
Thank you.
I learned a lot in that yard. It was east facing but it didn't really matter as it was surrounded by walls and houses on all sides. I had a few slivers of sunlight as it moved across the sky each day so it was fun trying to work out what could go where in such a small space.
A lot of those plants are now in my new front garden and in pots out the back of my new place.
I've been digging into my archive again after the return of this thread! This was the garden in my previous property - just lawn, moss and hedging when I moved in!
One of our garden group built all her structures from pallets. She's in a rental (south facing) and has done wonders; and is completely new to gardening. Full of sweetpeas, scabious, dahlias, cosmos and tomatoes, grown from seed or neighbour swaps. The back shelving is for cuttings.
Patio area April 2018 April 2019. Note single gate between garage and house. 15 Tons clay dug out by hand and carted to skip located on drive at front. July 2019. Nice clean new patio, area behind (in front garage window) is now new rose bed July 21 This morning patio labs not quite so clean now... This is the biggest single project tackled so far
