I haven’t gotten very far with our new garden, but here are some pictures of my previous garden (which I miss dreadfully!) It started as your standard funny shaped new build garden, turf, poor drainage, heavy clay, levels all over the place.
And when we left (treating you to some estate agents photos here!)
It was the sunniest north facing garden I’d ever known!
The garden out the side started as a bark area, the first year I chucked some wildflower mix down and got a lovely display, then I spent the autumn/winter digging it over, breaking up the huge clumps of clay by hand and incorporating lots of compost. The soil was a delight after the first year, I don’t have any pics of it before I started planting but this is what I started with and built from there.
Sadly I don’t have many pictures of it from last summer, I was so sad about leaving my garden I couldn’t bring myself too, I regret it now!! It’s in the hands of 2 non-gardeners now so we’ll see how long it lasts!!!
Extremely early days for our garden but these are from when we started clearing some of the wild weedy madness in mid 2020 and got rid of the leylandii...
And summer 2021 This year I'm gonna focus on reclaiming that front bed (that last pic, went completely wild again by the end of the summer unfortunately thanks to neighbouring brambles etc) and hopefully laying a path from the house to the herbaceous bed at the back. We're learning as we go. Love seeing all these amazing transformations, it gives me hope!

I moved house a year ago but here are some photos of my last garden. It's in Dordogne, France.

I now have a new blank canvas and I've started making flower beds.

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
Really good start, you've done a lot @ontopofthehill. Looks as though you have fabulous views.
