I know about the Covid travel rules @Lizzie27, much better for England, but French residents can't leave France without a reason on the French Gov list. The consultant wants to do the op as soon as possible, problem is the anaesthetist. There was a problem with OH's ECG so he wants everything checked, done heart and arteries so lungs are to do. It all takes so long.
I've been up in the loft putting away the Christmas decorations which were in boxes in the utility room. I want to make curtains so I had to put them away to make space around the sewing machine. Did a bit more unpacking while I was in the loft, found curtain lining, when I've just bought some!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Oops @Busy-Lizzie, just the kind of thing I do. I've just put our grill pan at the bottom of the slide out drawer under the built in cooker. I don't like the grill so don't use it any more but I bet I forget where I put it some time in the future.
It must be so frustrating for you both, it certainly doesn't sound like joined up thinking. In Bath (admittedly pre-covid) I could see my GP, she ordered an x-ray by email, I walked across the road to the hospital and had it done. Half an hour flat, job done. That's the trouble with the NHS, they are just not consistent across the country and it becomes a bit of a lottery. When I had my op (NHS but in a private hospital) a few years ago, all those tests were done very efficiently all in one morning about 6 weeks before the op. We're very, very lucky though to have a big hospital right on our doorstep.
Just done the Wordle in 3🥳 Really is a lot of educated guessing isn't it?

Sorry to hear several of us are struggling with the Black Dog. I also see more of him than I want to. As Punkdoc said, you get better at recognising the signs of him nosing around, but it's still hard to find a way through.
BL - I have my fingers very firmly crossed that your OH will get an appointment soon. It's been far too long.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Failed my Wordle today, got the first letter of the 6th go, wrong.
Had a nice surprise today, son and wife came to bring my card and present I knew they were coming, but just after that, step grandson and his wife turned up with a card and big bunch of flowers, hadn’t seen them for over 2 years.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
It has continued wet and grey here but not cold so not miserable but other then going down to see the chooks it's definitely been an indoor day. OH's new winter golf shirt is finished. Found one online going for 120€ sale price so feeling doubly virtuous for starting to whittle down my fabric stash.
I sorted out all my seeds into categories in the autumn and sowed some hardy annuals perennial and tree seeds then too. Other than chillies and tomatoes that need starting soon I won't be sowing any more for a while. OH managed to find me some surgical gloves at the pharmacy so I can safely carry on saving seeds from my bumper chilli crop.
Does the black dog respond to a light box @punkdoc? Maybe worth trying.
Buzzers going which means I have a roast guinea fowl to see to. Have a good evening everyone. See you later.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

It's a 'getting better' sort of day. We are going for a short drive into the hills; OH is very slowly recovering from major surgery for cancer. Apart from a very short jaunt a week ago, he hasn't been out of the house for 5 weeks and he's looking very peaky. Commiserations to those for whom the black dog is a companion. He's been lurking here since March.
My thoughts are with you Penny-Forthem. I can guess how you are feeling.
Evening all (was it Dixon of Dock Green that always started this way?) My best wishes to @punkdock who was kind enough to give me some advice many months ago when I was in a panic over covid and vaccinations - you are in my thoughts and prayers. Also sending good wishes to @Busy-Lizzie, hoping that the regulations in France let you return to Norfolk as soon as the work is finished on your French property so that you can be back with your other half. Really hoping that his op can go ahead asap too.
