And, before you ask, I was told by the old dear who gave the runners years ago that they were Loganberries, but I’ve never had proof.  Whatever they are, they are rampant and taste very good.😁😁
They look quite dark for loganberries - I'd have guessed boysenberries but delicious either way  :)

  • I wish we were not so far apart Obelixx, I would so love to learn patchwork. I have to many crafts on the go but it never stops me wanting to have a go at new ones…. I’m currently coveting photos of patchwork landscapes I see on Pinterest. Chicky enjoy the crochet, such a great way to make things relatively fast. I’m a much faster crocheter than knitter…. And I loose less stitches!

well it’s back to work for me today. Got the news I’m being moved to a new job and it’s been praying on my Ming all weekend. Hope I’ll get some details this afternoon as I hate knowing I’m moving withought knowing what exactly my scope will be. …… the perils of working for a big company, in the end we are all numbers and apparently should never be phased when something like this comes out of the blue!

    Safe journey @Dovefromabove
Those berries - whatever they are - look plump and delicious @Pat E.
We too have been using cloth bags for our shopping for a few years now @Simone_in_Wiltshire.  Who remembers when we all had plastic carrier bags stuffed full of other plastic carrier bags?  Good luck with achieving your 1 bag of plastic by the year end!  For me its the plastic/polystyrene packaging that comes with things ordered online.
I've also endeavour to buy clothes that are only made from natural material.  If it says polyster or acrylic it gets a swerve from me.
Now for a couple of hours gardening - bright, a bit windy and colder than of late but that mulch won't spread itself.

Hello all, another very mild day - the last for a while by the looks of it, rain forecast tomorrow night so OH is out cutting the grass. Took all the decorations down this morning and had a good clean round, why does everything look so dusty at this time of the year. It was sons birthday yesterday so we had a good video chat, but it's difficult to know how he really is emotionally and physically except he has put on a lot of weight since having Covid due to his painful joints. He has been told to lose weight so he must now find a good diet and exercise regime that will suit his joint pain.
How are you feeling now @tui34? I hope the pain is subsiding. The berries look scrummy Pat whatever they may be called!

We have arrived after a good journey in sunshine. Feet are up and there are Jaffa cakes and chocolate oranges being handed round 😊

Evening @floralies  The pain is subsiding - it is now down to the "sore and uncomfortable" level.  I stopped the painkillers and and-inflammatories but am keeping on with Dalfagan Codeine before bed.  I wear the lumbar support belt which prevents the ribs from moving around and I put the bolster in bed with me.  So, managing.  Walked down to the promenade for a coffee this morning.  Nary a sausage!!

The weather is apparently going to get colder for us as the cold front gains territory by Thursday.  Oh well, apart from the dismal mist, we did have some lovely sunny days.

I have just been watching "Lingo" and @Chicky wrote, there is a game called Wordle which seems to be along the same lines.    All good for the old brain.  I am also reading (now in English)  Elena Ferrante books (My Brillant Friend).  We watched "The Lost Daughter" with Olivia Coleman - Netflix, last night - a bit weird, but....

Thank you for your concern.  I hope your son finds a solution to losing weight - hmmm - quite difficult.  It would help the pressure on his joints.  I know his pain as I have various joints - wrists, knees and other hip that are rusting up!

When you are awake @Pat E    Unforgotten is a great series.  Nicola Walker was also good in "The Split" if you can get it.

@Dovefromabove   I trust you had an enjoyable day at you MIL's and had a nice lunch.  Were you able to go out anywhere?

Nearly time for "Pointless" - dinner is all ready to heat through, so no stress.  OH will take over from here.

Enjoy your evening if you can, now that all the chocolates are eaten and wine is off the menu!!  (for some)!

@Dovefromabove, glad you arrived safely, I expect MIL was delighted to see you both.
Sad to say we haven't had any sunshine today, unlike my sister in Leics who said they've had blue skies and sunshine. Had a nice long phone chat with her and caught up with all Xmas news.
I managed a couple of hours in the garden, digging up hundreds of those small red headed alliums with the long name, suspect I may be still digging up these for years to come. I also dug up clumps of black opo grass which had started invading the bearded iris nearby. Think I'm bored with the grass and will give it away.
Our Council bins were collected today so we've been lucky according to some news reports. The garden collections re-start on 17th January.
Good luck with the new job @Jacquimcmahon and sorry to hear of your son's misfortunes @floralies.
It's staying light until about 4.30 pm now which is really good news, so heartening.

    Evening all
    I'm in shock
I knew we paid too much for our electric but couldn't understand how... I've just worked it out.
When we moved in 5 and a half years ago we switched from eon to British gas,  I've just opened some of the old tenants mail and realised that eon are still charging us which means we have been charged by both company's for 5 and a half years!!
We pay £50 a week and that's not even our heating as that's gas.  I have an interesting phone call to make in the morning!! I'm so fuming I doubt I'll sleep,  it works out at roughly £6800. My head is spinning!!
