Thankfully @Liriodendron, I've only got what I call my 'small rough patch' on a steep slope behind my bench to cut. Hoping my new sickle will do the job, it's quite small. I think I shouldn't be let loose with a scythe! Good luck with your course, sounds fun. You'll have a good excuse to watch the famous scene from Poldark again - and again!!
Erm which one was that Lizzie27, just out of curiosity you understand.  :)

The one where Ross takes his shirt off and tries to scythe a hayfield! Excitement rating similar to Darcy walking out of the lake with wet clothes.......

  • We've had a relatively 'normal' day; we took the dogs up into the hills (very cold!!), then planted up the bulbs in the hopes they may well flower this year- thanks @janetfoss.
The daffs were already sprouting in the bag!

Thanks @Hostafan1, but I've got plenty of Cannas, and I don't really like that colour, sorry.

I'm sort of looking forward to the scything course, @Uff - just a bit afraid I'll be the only under-5-foot over-27 female among a load of strapping young men... on the other hand, perhaps that thought has its appeal...  ahem!   :D  o:)

I think @Hostafan1's canna is gorgeous.

I've started planting the round bed with roses. There is Darcy Bussell in the middle surrounded by three "Aspirin" and three "Amica", then there will be other flowers in between. The pink Escholtzia that I sowed last year have seeded themselves and there are quite a lot that seem to be surviving the cold weather. I've only planted 4 so far, DB and Aspirin. DB had grown a long root and I had trouble digging her up. They have been planted in the old veg garden since last spring.

Hello Forkers.  We’ve been to town food shopping and now I’m exhausted. 🙄

Time for a flop.  We were greeted by another cloud as we drove up to the house …

No prizes for guessing this time. I’m poodle crazy, so I’m biased.
