I hadn't thought about looking at his breed rescue site raisingirl but will do. One of the problems that I'm having is that it must be big enough to allow him to pant but not big enough to allow him to eat rubbish. There must be something out there that's suitable though.
Morning @PatE I hope your daytime temp wont be too hot for you today. I love the cloud formation pictures you posted, more please when you can. Morning @Hostafan if you are awake, like you I tend to be awake at odd hours and just grab some sleep when I can. @Busy-Lizzie, our family set up is a little odd (who's isn't these days). Daughter is separated from her other half but was spending her time between mine and his place. Young teenage grandson lives with his Dad during school term time and is here most weekends. Holidays he chooses where he wants to be and for how long. His Dad farms around 6 miles away from here. When Lockdown was first announced in March 20, daughter opted to move permanently in with me as her base, with grandson 'toing and froing' as usual. And yes I have horses, have had since I was 15. They then became my 'profession' but there are just some of the elderly favourites left now. I was sorry to read that you lost your old mare last year, it is so sad when the time comes for them to pass on. Any up to date news about the little donkey - sorry cant remember his name.
Just when I thought I could ease off from processing strawberries, I went for a walk this morning and discovered other berries are waiting impatiently for my attention. 😳
And, before you ask, I was told by the old dear who gave the runners years ago that they were Loganberries, but I’ve never had proof. Whatever they are, they are rampant and taste very good.😁😁
And, then Hubby’s sister rang to say her daughter hasn’t got any Black Sessame seeds. Hence I’ve been put cutting Nigella seed heads and trying to sort seeds from rubbish.
Good morning, everybody and a happy New Year 2022.
Quarter to 5 here in the SW of England. Today is the last of the bank holiday. The next one we can enjoy will be Good Friday in April. Today is also the day when days are getting longer in the morning. Looking at https://www.timeanddate.com/, the sun will rise a minute per day earlier from the 9th of January. At the end of the months, our days will be 1 hour and 9 minutes longer. Being on the shady side with my garden during the winter, I'm looking for the 25th of February, the time when the greenhouse will be in sun in the morning hours. Once the greenhouse gets sunshine in the morning, life is back. The seeds are sorted out, the pots are clean. Let's hope that winter will end on time this year. Last year was horrendous, something that even I - from Berlin - have never experienced before with frost almost each day in April and many days in May.
I maybe wrong but I'm optimistic that the current wave will be the last Covid wave. The radical takeover and wipe out of Delta, and that short spreading time, the virus would have to develop backwards again.
My friend and I also started a new project for 2022: we change our approach to buy something and want to avoid plastic as much as possible. The ambitious target is to have only 1 bag (120l) of plastic at the end of the year. We have had until now 1 bag a month. It will be harsh and we will have to adjust certainly now and then.
In other words, I'm optimistic for 2022 as long as the world leaders play their part, too.
Those berries look gorgeous @Pat E, you've been busy. What lovely names some of those places have near you.
Hello @AnnaB, seems funny you knowing about me and my old mare when I'd never heard of you! That was a sad time. The donkey was Caesar, I must ask P for more news, last I heard he had made friends with another donkey.
Hello and welcome to Forkers @Simone_in_Wiltshire. It was cold and frosty here in France too last spring. I lost all the blossom off my fruit trees. I was looking forward to tasting the fruit in my new house but there wasn't any, moved in January, it was -7° on moving day.
I need to go to the SM, almost out of coffee
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
