LFT negative so as I thought … a bacterial throat infection … I’ll just rest and suck strepsils.

    Hi all

Serious gales here, just had to retrieve part of the greenhouse from the field. A good day for being inside.
Hope you feel better soon @Dovefromabove

You should be very proud @D0rdogne_Damsel

Good afternoon to you all on the sunny Saturday.  Windy though - again.

@Dovefromabove  Naturally, ailments crop up on the weekend when doctors are closed. I chipped a tooth on Thursday evening.  Phoned the dentist yesterday morning but fully booked - can't fit me in - an appointment in 3 weeks.  Call me if it is painful.  It is!  On the weekend - naturally.  I can feel my cheek tightening.  I have antiseptique mouthwash and codeine is at the ready!  I hope your strepsils keep it at bay until Monday if it isn't better.

@Busy-Lizzie  I hope your P fella will help you stack some of the logs, at least if he wants to borrow the float.

@Pat E  Those are certainly storm clouds - that hot air is rising and when it meets the cold - wham.  I was talking to my friend in Melbourne yesterday morning (her evening)   and could hear the heavy rainfall!!  Summer showers!!

A nice chat over a coffee this morning with my neighbour.  Unless we are backing the car out of the driveway or walking the dog - neighbours are always inside or around the back!!

    Have a pleasant Saturday.

PS  @D0rdogne_Damsel   Charlie's results are very very very excellent!!!  You should be proud of him and he is probably far above his peers with 68% in French!  Good on him because at his level (troisième) the French paper is no "cadeau" !!!  With lots of encouragement that I am sure you are giving him - he will fly into the Lycée of his choice.    Well done, Charlie!  So much pressure on pupils here in France to fit into the box.

Poor @tui34. If the tooth is sensitive to cold, or sweet things, try rubbing a dollop of fluoride toothpaste onto it, and leave it for as long as you can, that can often help with sensitivity.
@D0rdogne_Damsel, that is one smart son you have there! Well done to him, you must be so proud!

Thanks @punkdoc … and everyone for your kind thoughts. I think I feel so groggy mainly cos I had almost no sleep … I’m a bit shivery but the Strepsils are easing the pain.

    Well done Charlie 👍

@Ergates  Thank you for that tip.  I have also made a mouthwash:   boilng salt, water, some cloves, mint, rosemary and thyme.  It chipped off at the gum and now it is wiggling so I am keeping my mouth still!!

@tui34 Is the broken edge scratching your cheek? Not much can be done about that until it’s repaired. The hot water mouthwash will be great if you feel any swelling alongside your gum below the base of the tooth, just don’t burn yourself! Difficult trying to eat on the other side.

That does not sound good @tui34.  No emergency dentist cover in your area?

Glad you enjoyed your birthday @Dovefromabove but a shame about your bug.   Well done Charlie @D0rdogne_Damsel.  Hope you've got some sleep @AuntyRach.

Had a good day at the fair yesterday - found some fabric I need for a mystery quilt  project, found some potential guest teachers to do workshops for the club and lots of lovely chat with pals plus a raid on a big fabric shop on the way home.

Today not so good.   The dishwasher installed with the new kitchen 5 years ago has stopped heating the water.   Chappy came today and discovered the resistance is gone and he doesn't know if he can get a new one on its own or if it needs to be a whole motor.   Dishwasher now removed and taken back to the workshop for an estimate.

All very well but in the hole we found all sorts of crud - mini Milka Easter eggs in their foil wrappers but slightly chewed, lots of fluff, a couple of fire lighters and so on.  How does that get under a built-in machine that I can't remove to clean?  Mice?   Humph!

Still cold and grey here but not as cold as it has been.  Looks like it'll be Tuesday before I get in the garden.

Stay safe and warm and well everyone.
