With this talk of repairs etc, I’m wondering whether poor @Busy-Lizzie has functioning facilities yet  :/

Yes @Dovefromabove! The drains are clear  A man came this afternoon. He came from a building firm that does everything, septic tanks, roofing, garden paths, stonework etc. The plumber who came on Friday suggested them. That plumber didn't come back on Saturday because his van broke down. He rang today to apologise.

Blooming heck it's going to take me all evening to catch up reading the posts on t'forum. I don't want to miss owt.

@Busy-Lizzie, is it a permanent solution or just until the next time? If its a recurring problem it could be something like a damaged drain and need a bit more investigation.
  • I had to go a different way to the tip today, as it was school chucking out time, so we avoided both the kids and the lure of the GC.

Hurrah for drainage @Busy-Lizzie.  Jealous of your new window @Lizzie27. We have two that I have wanted to convert back to sash ever since we moved in and now we also desperately need to replace the rotting windows in the outhouse.  But £££££s we are reluctant to spend.
Lovely to be out in the garden today - got the veg patch weeded and manured and now I'm a mucky pup and must get in the shower!

I don't know @Suesyn. I've already had the pipe from the downstairs loo and utility room replaced. The man told me I shouldn't have anymore problems after that as he'd done away with the right angled turn.

Given that the nearest  decent shopping centre is about an hour away by car, I use Amazon a lot.

I do almost all of my shopping online. None of it from Amazon. I try as much as possible to buy from the companies that make the stuff. And if that's not an option there are smaller, UK based marketplace sellers that don't constantly bombard me with emails.
