    Good morning all 😊 ☕️

Gosh those berries look luscious @Pat E … stay in the shade 🍹

Good to hear of your plan to avoid single use plastic @Simone_in_Wiltshire … we use only cotton or jute hold-alls for our shopping. When we go to the farm shop our fruit and veg comes in paper bags. We save these and take some with us if we go to the supermarket and put our fruit and veg in them for weighing. Paper bags that are damaged are used to line the kitchen compost bin. 😊

Today we’re heading for S. Lincs to stay with OHs mum for a couple of days … providing we test negative in a little while 🤞

Oh @Busy-Lizzie  😲 can’t run out of coffee … coffee and loo rolls are vital!!! ☕️

    Good morning everyone!!

Maybe some find weather for a day or two.  The sun managed to make an appearance yesterday afternoon before finally sinking over the horizon!!  Temperatures to drop considerably this week.  It has been too mild.

A stroll down to the square this morning maybe for a coffee but January will be a month of being over careful with much social distancing and washing of hands!!

@Pat E  I reckon they're Loganberries too.  Yum.  I grow Nigella in my garden - well it grows itself!!  I didn't realise they were also called Black Sesame Seeds - I thought the Indians used them as onion seeds in their curries.  Will nibble some this year!!

Enjoy your day today.  Stay safe.

Good morning all, good evening @Pat E what a harvest you have there! They look scrummy!
Safe journey @Dovefromabove, have a lovely time x
@AnnaB, it sounds lovely where you live.  Thanks for describing it as it helps us get a picture of each other.
I'm in Ipswich but come from a small Suffolk village originally and miss the countryside desperately!
Good for you @Simone_in_Wiltshire, it's amazing how much difference we can make just by a few small changes.  I think the responsibility is with the manufacturer really but until they do the right thing,  it's on us to do so 👍
Gardening in Felixstowe today.  It's noticeably colder after the mild start to the year.  Had another lovely day in my own garden for once and have made such a difference! Very positive start to the new year!
    Have a lovely day everyone!
    Second coffee time here!

There’s still bucket loads of the berries to pick yet, but I’m not sure when we will get back to it, if this heat continues. I put some in the microwave and they disappeared into Hubby’s bowl of ice cream. 🙄🤪 no sugar added or anything’s else. He said they were good. 😁

Good morning.  Grey here and set to be damp later on.    No gardening for me anyway today as I have patch club this pm to prepare for - setting up a workshop on Japanese Boro technique next week - and mosaic class afterwards.   All with masks, distancing, hand gels, Covid passes and regular ventilation of the rooms.

I put nigella seeds in naans and some of my wholemeal bread with added seeds.   Nigella are usually known as black onion seeds for some reason but some Asian companies also label them as black sesame if you're ordering online or buying in a specialist Asian store altho black sesame seeds for sushi are quite different.   Another good reason to stick to botanical names.

Love loganberries @Pat E and was very pleased to find one here recently.  Hoping for a decent crop this summer.  We had enough for one meal last summer but there are more stems for this year.

Hope your tests are clear @Dovefromabove and you  get to go and visit.   We have been using long life shopping bags or crates for over 20 years now and for a year or two have had re-usable fabric bags for fruit and veg tho I take a paper one for parsley.   I recycle plastic trays for meat and poultry as water saucers for seed trays and small pots after pricking out but haven't yet found a use for the polystyrene ones.

I hope César has made a friend @Busy-Lizzie.  Not good for donkeys or horses to be alone and lonely.

Have a good day everyone whatever you're doing.

    Hi all

Even just an hour or so will be good @punkdoc.  Have you found the mouse?

Our forecast has just changed - wet tomorrow but sunny on Wednesday so maybe I can start transplanting some over-sized Michaelmas daisies running rampant in the roses.

Lateral flow test done here too - part of the pre-coffee morning rigmarole. Needed as its my Dads birthday today so going to visit. Sisters family are still testing positive, gradually, one by one. Seems to be taking 7 days between contact and a positive test. Thankfully they are all triple jabbed, and nothing worse than the snivels - but they will not be coming today (obviously).

Have spent the last couple of days teaching myself how to crochet 🧶. Very soothing. I can see a few blankets in the pipeline. Will keep me occupied til the garden starts to need more than the odd hour of attention. Which reminds me …. must get my old hellebore leaves cut back tomorrow, as I noticed the first flower is out.

Anyone else discovered Wordle yet? Like mastermind with letters. Quite addictive, but only one puzzle available a day, so shouldn’t be too much of a time drainer. Give it a google!
  • Morning everyone,  interesting  berries @Pat E. In my experience loganberries are usually dark red , but that doesn't mean yours are not. There are lots of different hybrid berries, all with slightly different characteristics,  but it doesn't matter really if they taste good.
    Have a good day all.

Two clear LFTs here today, and MIL has tested clear as well so we’ll be leaving for her place shortly. 😎
