    That’s a doozy!!

The one I found looks like it was intended to be a step of sorts?! It will be handy anyway as I want to square off that area for my future greenhouse

I'd give the fence a coat of preservative while you can get at it easily, and no plants that splashed would damage.

Yep, it’s getting painted once the weather is warm enough

    Looking good @zugenie

Do you feel a massive sense of accomplishment when you have finished for the day and take a pic?

I went out in the sleet today and forked in another bag of manure.

    Your soil looks beautiful.

I very much do, as much as I miss my old garden I really do love the process of gardening, and I’m getting to do it on a much larger scale this time!!

Started with this plus 2 months of unchecked growth on everything, the border I’m digging is only the beginning but I know it’s going to bring me a lot of joy!!

I can’t wait to see what you do with it.

I’m finally starting on my back garden. I moved here in April 21.

I have more of a blank canvas but it’s still quite daunting. I’ve only ever had a yard.

So far we’ve added the picket fence (to stop dogs from both sides) and I’ve started digging a bed in the back left. There’s a huge deck that I’m standing on. North facing.

That’s a lovely blank canvas!! What are your plans for it?

I dug up these this week.

It must go something like this:

“We’ll have to see if someone wants those bricks, John. Or you’ll have to take them to the tip”

”Naaaah, I’ll bury them at the bottom of the garden. That’ll be easier!”

“Well don’t put them in the same place as the animals we’ve buried!”

In the old'n days we didn't have cars so burying in the garden WAS easier!  Hence lots of 1930s fireplaces were buried in the '60s.
