@zugenie that would be beautiful and would create a link with how you gardened before too. I have a ceanothus that flowers well and I think the blue and pink would go really well together, so .... That is so true about the gardens changing with the seasons. I always find it sad when front gardens ( and back gardens!) are paved over and you would not have a clue what time of year it was from looking at them, apart from the temperature and precipitation I suppose.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus
This weekend I have; placed the last bed, cut some concrete to make the bed in front of the fence closest to the compost bins fit better, fitted the wires to the fence, planted the honeysuckle, cleared the side of the waterbutts (got a big bramble out of there!), installed the everedge, put the soil I dug out from the pond in the beds, put cardboard on top, then put my homemade compost on top of the cardboard, put shop bought compost on top of that in two beds- need to buy more, smoothed out the paths, laid the weed membrane and the gravel grids.
Now I just need the gravel, which should be delivered tomorrow!
@Loraine3 ah yes, I know, but I already have the turf I removed from extending the border, and some turf from the front stacked up, I don’t have room for anymore

I wish more people would too, there’s some lovely front gardens round here, I love seeing them change through the seasons!
