Thank you for sharing your progress! I didn’t even realise that gravel grids were a thing in normal gardens, it is making me think. This is great to see all the change over the seasons and as you make it your garden.
@Littlegarden I confess I like reading back through here and remembering how much I’ve done!!
My parents actually used them at their last house when they replace the lawn with gravel, they were excellent there. I wanted the paths to be fairly solid and they are on a slope so I thought the grids made sense. I considered doing slabs but gravel is much easier to DIY!
Have started plotting for the left side of the garden, once the big bush has gone, arbutus unedo came this week, amelanchier robin hill will come in a couple of weeks
This is the plan for that side, won’t be as many plants as sketched
It looks fantastic @zugenie! I do love the electric colours of the purples and mauves and lime greens in the sunshine and your planting around the pond (and your pond). Your arbutus unedo looks gorgeous. I do like the tree form, it looks glossy. What sort of garden soil do you have by the way?
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus
It must be thrilling to be able to grow all sorts of different plants in your loamy soil and you have an eye of planting combinations I think which is very inspiring.

The bargain tree has arrived, it is even bigger than I remembered 🤣
Very pleased with it, I will probably expedite the plans to remove the big bush and get that area ready for planting the trees, I just know this is going to be a nightmare to keep vertical
The tree in the middle of the border @zugenie is filling out nicely now and is blocking the neighbouring side window really well. It's all looking so nice and you have worked so hard, the rewards are plain to see. 👍
