Sorry about that Biglad. Feet up and rest now. Some of the rugby men ended up looking like Uruk-hai after the match.
Hazel, I've just been to collect some water from one of my water butts near the greenhouse and the scent from my sarcococca near the back door is already overpoweringly delicious and the flowers are not even fully open yet. I've got a lot of snowdrops showing - some about ready to burst open. Like you, I love seeing the first green signs that Spring is slowly on its way.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I had a quite long afternoon sleep. It's not my thing, but I was tired. We came home around 1pm. Everything is ok and Rose can continue with her usual life routine. She spent few hours lurkin bird feeders. Cats can only watch them, and can't reach. GC was near vet's office, so we were in short visit. They have now huge seeds offer, and of course I bought few. Didn't have much time to look properly, so I'll go back next week.Β The weather served us well. It was sunny and calm day, but unusually cold. Whole day around 1β. I'm going to make my tea and will read back.
It's been a lovely sunny afternoon.Β I've planted my three new yellow roses, Happiness, Graham Thomas and Golden Celebration. It took me over two hours as I had to dig up some of the lawn along the fence and remove some of the heaviest clay and mix compost and chicken manure into the soil. The chicken manure came out of the chicken shed early last year when I cleaned it out so that I could use it as a garden tool shed.
I also met my new neighbour who moved here in early January, a young couple with 2 children. He has chickens and, bother it, a couple of cockerels. I hope they are far enough away not to wake me in the summer, unlike the Norfolk cockerel. The donkey paddock is between us and them. He seemed nice, was friendly.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Ante, it is good to hear that all went well with the trip today and that Rose is now all sorted. You can rest now and I'm glad that it didn't snow for you either.
Wow Busy, you have been taking after your name again. Those roses are beautiful. I hope that you do not get too disturbed by the neighbour's cockerels at early hours in the morning. Let's hope that the wind blows the opposite direction to your house.
See you tomorrow Hazel
Welcome to Rez @BrummieBen. I confess to being intrigued by your cryptic post but I'm sure all will be made clear sooner or later.
