Hello all not had chance to read back properly. Don’t like to be on my phone when with others it seems rude. Weekend not too bad, just a bit tiring.
    Lovely scenery here

Lily we are waiting to hear from the clinic about OH next injection. They must be busy considering staff shortages in the NHS.
I am hoping to do a bit of gardening today if it’s not too cold .At the moment I have a pile of paperwork to do.

    Good morning all later arrivals.

I just came in from the garden.

LB, yes, I'll grow lettuce indoors all the time. Just about 15-20 plants for me and my family. I plant seedlings in the large pots and keep them in veranda, which is not heated. I bought yesterday new variety which can be grown all year round.

SGL, my dad is well, thanks for asking. Have a restful day after yesterday's surprise.

    Morning all,

Bit murky and damp here this morning. We've got some mossy growth on the porch roof. I've been meaning to give it a clean for a while but was leaving it for better weather (as it won't be a job involving plodding around the garden keeping warm). However, OH's dad spotted it from the car yesterday so OH is now aware :o I'm just going to get the stepladders out now :(

    Hello all.
It was -4° here this morning when I got in the logs but the sun has come out and it's now +5°.

I'm glad you enjoyed your surprise day with the poppets @star gaze lily

I hope it warms up a bit more so I can start planting out the pink and white round rose bed. The roses were on offer 5€ each last spring and they've been in the vegetable garden ever since as I hadn't dug the bed out of the lawn. The bed has been dug and was waiting for winter to move the roses.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Thank you everyone, it was a lovely surprise
@Rubee hope you hear soon and that your OH isn't in too much pain.
@Ante30 glad to hear you Dad is well.
@Ladybird4 have a lovely catch up with your family. Take care on the roads.
@Songbird-1 they really cheer your day, don't they. Hope OH isn't too tired after starting decorating so early in the day. Bet your son is so very grateful for his help.
@Busy-Lizzie Brrrrrr that sounds cold, your garden and roses sound beautiful.
@Biglad Oh heck, shame your FIL noticed the mossy porch. Take care up the ladder.
Just walked halfway down the garden.........very squelchy underfoot. There's a few things peeking through the soil. And there's a few new shoots on the hydrangeas. The Cyclamen near the oak tree, has really sspread this year. Rather chilly out there and too boggy to do anything.  Have done a few unmentionable jobs including putting a heavy hot thing on some cloth items.  But now almost lunch time and a lazy afternoon.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday.

Porch roof de-mossed. Not a very satisfying job and a PITA scraping, brushing and collecting a kazillion tiny bits of moss whilst balancing on stepladders wobbling on an uneven drive :o Could have done without all the, "that looks like a good job" comments from dog walkers as well :( Anyway, at least I won't be doing that again for a couple of years (at least!). Let's see if the OH notices any difference/makes a positive comment :D

Good afternoon all. Had a bit of a mad morning and it was good to get back home though I didn't stay too long in the garden.
Dove, I am not altogether certain what the 'humanitarian mission' will involve as I have heard that Tonga is very concerned about covid being inadvertently being brought into the islands and they are not letting people land. They may possibly anchor off shore and work from there. She is a medic on Australian navy ships before her latest attachment. My nephew. her fiancé, is a first response paramedic in Sydney.
Ante, I have ordered some 'all year round lettuce' to grow in my unheated greenhouse. I'm afraid that my wild life are rather fond of lettuce so I stand a good chance of keeping it to myself.
Biglad I smiled at your description of the moss job. I soon realised that it was your FIL who gave the game away, as you told us how unobservant your OH can be. I did worry about you up a wobbly ladder though so I am glad that the job is now completed and you can forget about it for a few years.
Busy, that was a very cold start to your day. Have you managed to get your tasks done?

Good Afternoon All, had a nice evening with the family, BIL had some gifts to open and this was the cake I’d made it’s a chocolate & vanilla marble loaf, icing went awry but it tasted good 😊
LB Those duvets were such a bargain, I had to rummage through the singles & King size to find a double too. Hope you had a nice visit to the rellies and good luck to your future niece-in-law on her humanitarian mission to Tonga,
SGL What a lovely surprise invitation  round to your eldest & family yesterday, hope the poppets are all keeping well,
Hazel Sounds like the decorating is going well at sons, wallpapering day today hope OH isn’t finding it too hard going. You’ve had a very productive day, very satisfying to accomplish all that you wanted,
Ante I’m glad all went well at the vets yesterday and Rose is recovering well. The lettuce will be nice and handy to grow indoors, hope you’ve had a good visit to the cottage,
Busy I hope you’ve been able to get out and plant the roses, the colours sound lovely. Sorry to hear daughter 2 is feeling rough after contracting the virus, hope she soon improves,
Bluebells I can see us all trying to get one of those capes now 🤗, hope you’ve had a good day,
Time for a cuppa, enjoy your evening everyone.

Hello Chive. I am so glad that you had a lovely time with the family and that cake looks fabulous. I'll bet there is not much left! Well done for hunting out a duvet too! I'm going to check out those capes too. It would be lovely if they were battery operated - just think how much more gardening we could get done!
