  • So sorry @debs64 i didn't see your post earlier. So sorry to hear your daughter has had a miscarriage. Life isn't far at times. Sending my very best wishes. And thinking of you all.

There seems to be a few posts that weren't there when I posted earlier. Monday gremlins.
Glad you got a few more hours sleep @Songbird-1 hopefully the window man will turn up soon and you can relax for the rest of the day. Hope your throat eases too.
@Chivetalking have a lovely day with your mum.

    Morning all.

A day of sorting out the little chain saw pruner and then probably more branch processing. Will be good to get the lawn cleared.

@debs64 - so sorry to hear the sad news about your daughter. Thoughts are with you both. Best wishes to all the family.

@Busy-Lizzie - oh no! That is not how you want to start the week. As you say, it sounds like a real problem / snagging point down line. Am I correct in thinking that (apart from an occasional family visit) it's only been you that's been in the house / using the facilities etc? Certainly doesn't seem as if the set up could cope with a family of four or more.

I do hope they can get to the root of the problem quickly and offer a permanent solution.

    LB - Good luck!

    Rubee - Hi and bye!

Chive - enjoy your visit to mum's - the cake you made for the weekend looked scrummy. Is it very wrong to fancy a piece at this time of the day.

Rosie BB - you may need your heated cape this week. Looks like it will be chilly for a couple of days.

Hazel - hope your plant is one of the sarcococcas. Make sure some of the flowers are open on the piece you bring inside.

Hello to everyone else. Hope you all have a good day. Now I really must get in the shower!

    Morning all,

Grey and dry could be set for most of this week. Apparently we've got a one-off garden waste collection at some point this week. Specifying the day would've been nice but a couple of binfluencers have put theirs out so I'm taking no chances ;)

Off to the dentist shortly - what joy :(

Plan B worked a treat - well apart from me forgetting that Lily can squeeze under the chair in the front room. Luckily I can deal with that. When I got to the Vet's and made the phone call to announce I was there, the Vet came out, took the carrier and told me that they had stopped allowing owners to go into the surgery again so I watched Lily disappearing with the Vet and felt like a rat. It was really cold so at least I had the car to sit in. About 10 minutes later Vet appeared with Lily. She does have a heart murmur but the Vet said that this could be quite normal for Lily though they haven't picked up on it before. She asked if I wanted to speak to a heart specialist, I replied that I needed one, never mind Lily. She laughed - I was serious! I wanted Lily to have her teeth scaled and polished but they won't do it as she has a dicky ticker. I had already decided before this check up that as long as Lily was happy in herself I was not going to put her through any further stressful experiences.

Debs, I was so desperately sorry to hear your daughter's traumatic news. The poor girl seems to have had a horrid few months. It must be nice for her to have you near for comfort.
Aaargh Busy, that is absolutely NOT what you wanted to discover - having thought it had all been sorted, and especially as you have got your planned trip to Norfolk looming on the horizon.
T'Bird, there is NEVER a wrong time for cake in my opinion.
Chive, have a super visit with your Mum.
Good luck at the Dentist's Biglad - I'm jealous!
Hazel I am so pleased that your sarcococca has given off its lovely perfume in the warmth. Maybe when it is a bit bigger in the garden it will fill the air outside as well. Mine knocks me out every time I open the back door.
p.s. Ante, I hope that your packages arrive safely so you can get your books stashed (stored) away.

LB - I'm glad you managed to get Lily to the vets ok but fully understand what you mean about having to wait behind while the vet examines her. Whenever possible poor old Harry used to stick his head in my coat where it was dark and warm and smelled like home for the duration. I would hate not being able to give him that modicum of comfort and reassurance. Give Lily an extra cuddle from me 🥰

It might be worth speaking to the vet about some special dental biscuits if Lily doesn't already use them. They're a larger size than regular ones and have to be crunched which can help to keep the teeth clean. Not suitable if a cat already has sore gums though.

Dentist done. Not sure what was more painful - the procedure or the bill :o

Not sure whether I'll go for a run this afternoon or get into the garden.

  • There and back home from a visit to D*#e/m  picked up click and collect, wished I'd opened the parcel there as it's going straight back. Material is terrible quality.......it's a tablecloth......and edges not straight. The machined edges aren't  particularly good either.  Shame,  their products on the whole are usually good.

Glad you got Lily to the vets ok @Ladybird4 sorry to hear she has a heart murmur.  I'm sure she's very glad she's safely  back home.
Agree LB always a good time for cake 😉
@Songbird-1 glad your Sarcococca has a lovely perfume. Im sure the shrub will smell beautifully in your front garden.

Hazel Window Chappie sounds very good, no messing about that’s exactly what you want. Mum is doing well thank you, how is your mum? Hope your OH gets on ok with his haircut this afternoon,
Hope you got your teeth stuck into the garden Biglad 😁
Topbird Agree anytime is a good time for cake 😋 Hope you got your chainsaw pruner sorted out ok and all remaining branch debris cleared away,
SGL Disappointing purchase from Dun**m I wouldn’t have checked in the store either, you wouldn’t expect to find the finished item looking like that ☹️
Rubee Sounds like a busy day for you, I hope you’ve been able to stop occasionally for a cuppa,
