Good morning all. Boiler decided to pick today to be temperamental so woke at 5.30 to no heat or hot water. Fiancé has “topped it up” but no shower for me as bathroom is arctic. All working now but an added irritant to a cold dark January morning. Feeling rather stressed and down at the moment but trying very hard to be positive. Pavement is very icy so I will walk in the road down the hill.
Feeling better but still blocked up so not able to smell anything properly although it’s not like when I had covid just the usual symptoms I get from a cold. My sinuses have always been a bit dodgy apparently it’s because I have a small face? Not sure if that true but it’s a nice thought.
Work was ok except for constant requests for lateral flow tests that we don’t have and delivery problems due to lack of drivers. What fun!
    Stay warm and safe everyone.

Good morning debs and all to follow.

Debs, I'm sorry to hear that you also have a boiler problem. It's not the time to have such troubles. I hope that you will soon recover.

I was quite in shock and depressed last two days, and today I'm bit better. Two days ago, when I came home from cottage I found one of my cats dead. Someone run over him on my private driveway 50 m from the road. It's the first time that I regret not to have video surveillance. So, I went back to cottage to burry him with my previous pets, and it was dark and rain.

It's snowing this morning. I'm sure that some of you sent me your weather😁. Now is time for my tea, buns are already in the oven.

@Ante30 so sorry to hear of your poor cat. It’s so horrible when we lose one of our furry friends but I am sure the cat had a lovely life with you. Think of the happy times.
Boiler just needed adjustment it’s fine now I just feel grumpy because it’s dark and cold on the way to work and the same coming home. Worries about family don’t help. Fiancé is back in contact with his son, a real bad lot in every way, and I am just waiting for that all to go wrong as it always does. My daughter is very unwell and that’s another concern and I am afraid that this covid situation just brings me down. Oh for some good news!
Oh well I shouldn’t complain I have a warm house to come home to and lots of lovely people in my life and it’s my birthday in February.
Hope all of you with broken stuff get it fixed and stay home if you can the pavement is treacherous.

Good morning Debs and Ante and all to arrive later.
Ante, my heart was breaking for you when I read your post about your poor little cat. He will have had a lovely life with you but how cruelly ended. Time to give Max and your other pets big hugs.
Debs, chin up chuck. This time of year with all its present uncertainties is very trying for us all. The good times will surely come.

Hello all … @Ante30 I’m so sorry to hear about your cat … it’s a long time ago but the same thing happened to WonkyWomble ‘s cat Socks when Wonky was a small girl. It’s something that stays with you no matter how many more pets you have. 😞

And I hope all the poorly ones are on the mend.

Not a day to have boiler problems 🥶 … hope that’s been resolved now 🤞 I’m so glad we grasped the nettle and had a new boiler in the summer.

Now we are home so bread to bake, soup to make (one of the stored winter squashes) and oxtail stew for supper 😋

Have a good day and stay warm.
