Too little, too late @Ladybird4 but at least it's not another embarrassing innings defeat. The Sydney weather might secure the draw ;) There certainly wouldn't be any play if they were in my neck of the woods today.

Only snowing gently now but folk are spinning their wheels trying to get up the road and the forecast suggests it will get worse before getting washed away tomorrow.

Hurray! Septic tank is OK after my energetic attempts with a plunger in the downstairs loo!

And the sun has come out D

Plumber says his Covid is better and he can come the end of next week to put in the new bath. Just spoken to the drive man who says he should be able to come within the next 2 weeks to repair the damage the cement lorry did. Then hoping for French Covid travelling rules to ease so I can go to Norfolk.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • A rainy day today, a day for staying in and catch up also on some missed sleep.  I've cut my hair a little bit just tidying the ends. Ante I love seeing your photos.  I'm so glad Max is better, such a relief for you.  I'm glad you and Max enjoyed your wall in the snow.  LB I hope you had a safe journey and enjoyed spending time with the quizzers.  Hazel it's good the routers settled down.  Busy I hope the jobs will soon be started and you can soon travel to see oh in Norfolk.

Good afternoon everyone. I am well and truly stuffed. We had a marvellous meal but there were a few hiccups thanks to roadworks which held 4 of the quizzers up. As for my poor friend from Crewe, she arrived too late to eat because there had been an accident on the M6 and she got diverted off and got a little bit lost. She was very stressed when she finally did catch up with us. It has hailed and sleeted all day today so its nice to be inside away from the weather.
Busy, I am glad to hear that you have managed to unbung your septic tank and that your jobs waiting to be done look as if some action is about to take place. It will be so nice if you can get back to Norfolk soon.
Hazel. I think I will get my knitting out tonight. I hadn't heard that news about Sidney Poitier. He must have been a good age.
Ante, you can bombard away. I LOVE looking at your pictures and the video of Max in the snow is beautiful.

    Evening Everyone,
LB Glad you had a nice lunch but what a shame for your friend from Crewe, a very stressful journey there I hope the return one was less so,
Ante How wonderful to watch Max enjoying his walk in the snow I hope you did too, it sounded very crunchy underfoot but it looks magical. Lovely pictures to see & never too many 😊
Hazel It sounds like you’ve got a fiddly task there unpicking all your previous knitting and beginning a new blanket, hope all goes well for your sons birthday tomorrow,
Busy Good news that the plumber can finally commit to a date and you’ve got the driveway repair arranged, hope you are able to return to Norfolk without any restrictions,
Bluebells I’m pleased you’ve been able to catch up on some of the lost sleep today and give your fringe a trim, that makes you feel better,
Sad to hear the news of Sidney Poitier passing.
I’m settling down now, have a nice evening everyone.

Evening all. What a cold day it's been.

Ante - I was so sorry to read about your cat. Heart breaking - my thoughts are with you.

BL - I bet problems with the loo just felt like the final straw! Glad to hear you've had a little flurry of good news messages today.

LB - I was listening to some of the traffic news from your part of the world this afternoon. Didn't sound like much fun up there.

Yvie - sorry to hear about your freezer. The contents of mine are insured but when it gave up the ghost some years ago, I realised the majority of contents was frozen peas (or similar) and frozen bread. I struggled to get above £50 worth of contents - definitely not worth claiming for🤪

Chive - hope you had a good time with mum and she's still doing ok.

SM dash this morning then off to collect the m'home this afternoon. The problem we encountered in October (& thought was fixed) recurred at the end of Nov so it's been in for another check over. Seems that some months ago, a little mouse had made it's way into the air filter which it chewed up to make a nest in there. All the bits of air filter were then being sucked through the engine - maybe even a mouse.... That's one expensive mouse nest - £600 in total thank you very much. Just hoping no further damage has been done.

We have had mouse traps set up in the parking since they chewed through the windscreen washer tubing of the old m/home. Not sure that we can do much more to deter them other than regularly starting up the engine. Very frustrating.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
  • @Ante30 gorgeous snowy photos thank you for sharing. Love the video of Max, so pleased to see he is better and enjoying his walks in the snow. Hope your Dad is feeling better too.
@Ladybird4 glad you enjoyed your meal and catch up with your  quizzing friends. Sorry some got stuck in traffic. Such a shame your friend from Crewe had such an awful journey. Glad she got home safely.
@Busy-Lizzie good news that the plumber can fit the bathroom for you next week. Hopefully you can travel to Norfolk soon to be with your OH. 🤞
@bluebellsintherain I stayed in today too, I only ventured out to go to the bin......Brrrrrrrr so very cold ❄
@Chivetalking hope you had a good day with the little ones and had a relaxing evening.
@Songbird-1 in picking knitting can be very fiddly, are you making more blankets for the hospital.
@Topbird OH heck that was an expensive repair for nest for a pesky mouse 😣

Hoping to get some sleep tonight, I accidentally fell asleep on the sofa this afternoon, I'm wide awake at the moment 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
    Night read for awhile.
Good night everyone, sleep well and sweet dreams

A very good morning to SGL - the night owl - and all to arrive later. Hope the reading lulled you to sleep SGL.
Good grief T'Bird, that is one expensive pesky mouse. It is so frustrating when you cannot guarantee against something similar happening again. I used to have a freezer in my garage and once discovered a neat little dried grass nest near the motor where it was warm. Luckily the freezer was on its way out (sorry to remind you Yvie!) as it may have posed a fire risk eventually.
