Referring to what Ante said about masks, in France everyone over the age of 6 in schools has to wear a mask.
I took the rubbish bags to the bins, no collection here, and the glass to the bottle bin then went to the SM. Needed coffee, loo rolls, fruit and veg so couldn't put it off.
I also asked the supermarket pharmacy for autotest Covid tests as I was told they had them last week. But they had run out. The French government keep saying that Covid tests are available in supermarkets all this month, apparently nearly everyone has sold out.
This afternoon I've put my sewing stuff away in the cupboard and thrown away a load of half used candles. When we first came to France there were frequent power cuts so I kept using candles. I should have chucked them before the move. I hardly ever use candles now. There's a load of wood and beams in this house so it's probably a fire risk.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Evening everyone, Christmas has been packed away for another year, needed a good spit & polish after too, Hazel Pleased you found a nice vase to display, soundsย very niceย a real statement piece, hope OH is feeling rested after all the hard graft yesterday,ย LB What a lovely neighbour you have the new panels will look very smart, do you think Robbie will approve of the changes? ๐
SGL Sorry to hear you had a rubbish night and woke with a muzzy head, hope youโve managed to shake that off during the day, Busy Sounds like a productive day having a good sort out and putting away, very satisfying. I do like the ambience of candlelight, but wary of the fire risk particularly with tea lights,ย Rubee Sorry to hear you have router problems, such a pain when they play up,ย Signing off early tonight, need to get myself sorted for the morning. Goodnight All.ย
Hazel sounds like a difficult assembly.ย Your oh did well.ย Lily it was raining here too.ย I hope you had a rest today.ย Chive and Ante I hope all goes well for your return to school.ย LB it's good you have a good neighbour.
Hazel, I love the sound of your glass vase. It sounds like some of the pieces of Malta glass that I have.
Busy you sound to have had a productive day - apart from not being able to get the covid tests you want.
Chive, I know exactly how you feel having got my decorations stashed away today. I just need to test all the batteries I have extracted to see which are still useful and which can go to the recycle bin in A**i. As long as Robbie has food he doesn't seem too perturbed but I think that my dunnocks will miss the cover. You will have an exciting day tomorrow Chive as the small people tell you all about their Christmases.
Ante, I would not like wearing a mask all day so I am glad I am retired now. Wearing one to the SM is bad enough as after a while I do not feel as if I am getting enough oxygen into my lungs. This could be good though as I stick (mostly) to my shopping list and I get in and out of the SM as soon as possible and the relief when I can take the mask off whilst heading back to the car, taking a few deep breaths of fresh air is wonderful!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Took the rest of our decs down too and all boxed up and put away. Don't usually do till 12th night.ย ย Feeling wide awake at the moment, so I'll read for a bit. And then hopefully nod off and get a better nights sleep. @Songbird-1 you had a lovely shop in D^#*/m today, vase sounds lovely.
Good morning all. Was coughing a lot yesterday and have woken up full of a cold. Have tested and not covid but still feel a bit rough. Wanted to get organised today before going back to work but think a lazy day is called for. Not looking forward to a day at work with a cough people are still quite concerned think I will need a badge โ itโs only a coldโย
Good morning Debs and all to arrive later. I am sorry to hear that you have a cold. I know that feeling about having a cough. Having been plagued with one myself fo about 6 years on and off, I get to the point where I daren't cough in case people think I have covid. Hope today is not too horrid for you.

Debs, I'm sorry to hear that you have cold. I hope that you will recover soon.
It's raining. I'm glad that all my lights are taken down and in the house. It would be difficult work outside on weather like this.ย I must go to the bank, just short visit and later I'll go to cottage.
Morning everyone, another broken nights sleep, but not as bad as the night before. Looks very dark and miserable outside.ย @debs64 sorry you're feeling poorly this morning. Didn't you say a colleague had gone to work with a very bad cold, or possibly caught it from someone popping in to get prescriptions etc. Keep warm and have a restful day.ย @Ladybird4 lovely pic this morning.ย @Ante30 enjoy your day at the cottage. Need another cup of tea. Have a good day everyone.
