Happy New Year from here too ... a lovely bright sunny morning ... OH went out on his bike with his camera and I've been photographing whatever is in bloom in the garden ... including the weeds :s ... for the New Year's Day Flower Count.Β  It's amazing to see some gardens with daffodils out whereas mine haven't even peeked through the earth yet.Β Β

Enjoy the rest of the day everyoneΒ  :)

Gosh you've been busy, Hazel. I know how you feel about your books. I had to get rid of quite a lot when I downsized, I had about 3000. No way would they all have fitted in here. I had to convert part of the old garage to make a small study for them.

Thank you Rubee, my cold is still here but I feel much better today.

I have even done some gardening. I planted the shrub that Daughter 1 gave me for Christmas, Viburnum Plicatum, and the spotted laurel I bought for a difficult place. It's a while since I did any gardening, Christmas, family, weather, having colds don't make it easy. Vegetable garden needs weeding. The ground is very wet though.

Evening all. After gardening this morning I went into my wardrobes and started to thin out my jeans collection. So far I have 9 pairs earmarked for the Charity Shop. Much more stuff to be sorted through,
T'Bird - another Peter Kay and his misheard song lyrics fan here! Thank you for reminding me that I have to get my birthdays, anniversaries and appointments transferred to my calendar. Like you, I use the calendar on my phone but having the calendar hanging on the back of my shower room door means I can get quick reminders first thing in the morning which I can then check on the phone.
Hazel, what an interesting if tiring day you have had today. I can understand your concerns about a heavy bookcase pulling away from the wall. I'm sure your OH will get everything sorted. I was a bit worried when you didn't leap in to paint the dark mark on the wall but maybe all that furniture lifting tired you out?
Busy 3000 books??!! You are a one person library. My niece wants to have one of her rooms fully lined with books as she loves them - particularly older ones. When I tell her about your collection she will have a real target to aim for. Glad to hear that your cold is subsiding

  • LB Hazel and Busy you have been busy.Β  I had lunch with mum and dad.Β  I've put away the decorations and had some Christmas cake and cheese for tea.Β  Busy quite a collection of books.

RosieBB, I confess to taking down my Christmas tree yesterday. I've left the smaller dekkies up but I'd had enough of the tree. I was jiggered (Ante = very tired) by the time I had that stripped of all its lights, baubles and tinsel and then stashed away in its storage bag. I'm pleased I've got that done though.

RosieBB, no matter how tired I get I am NOT eating Richard Jackson bird food!

LB yes it's quite a job.Β  You've done well.Β  I heard that Richard Jackson Bird food is the best, no waste with energy boost.

Wouldn't be a plug, now would it?

On a serious note RosieBB, I get my bird food elsewhere and it is high energy, husk free, with mealworms and is roughly half the price of Richard Jackson - with free delivery.
