Afternoon all, Glad to hear you've been passed ok by the nurse @Dovefromabove. I get that incredible pain from upper arm blood pressure monitors as well. I think it's connected to neck/shoulder/arm tendons and ligaments with me.
Β Sorry to hear about all the other stressed out posters.
I absolutely refuse to get stressed over the current situation. Why get all stressed over something you have no control over, I don't see the point. It will be a shame but not the end of the world if Xmas gets cancelled again as we might not get to see the son/DIL/grandchildren then but we probably could all meet up in a car park somewhere and wave. My daughter will come and stay if bubbles are still allowed and probably even if they not allowed.
If it's just the two of us, we'll celebrate by staying in bed all day and drinking champagne.
@Punkdoc, why not sit and make a list of something enjoyable you could do each day. That way you'll have something nice to look forward to. Cook something different as well.
It's been a lovely sunny day today. I finished my Christmas cards and walked to the next village to post them, but it's not very far. Need to buy some more stamps, but that's a drive way.
I found I had enough wrapping paper after all. I really need to do some more unpacking. Still waiting for OH to come back and put in some screws to hang pictures. I'm not much good at drilling into stone walls.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Lucky you @Busy-Lizzie, we only had a brief glimpse of sunshine here. I posted all my cards this morning and OH started doing his this afternoon. I've been battling with our internet security Help line and a very pleasant chap changed my email address andΒ emailed details of my original invoice. I hadn't realized until the sub was taken on my credit card because the prior notification had been sent to my old email address which doesn't exist any more. It's causing no end of problems with different online companies.
I also tried to order a Japanese herbaceous sickle which was featured in the Telegraph supplement on Saturday - too late, they've already sold out. Boy, have you got to be fast online these days. Missed my Sainsbury's pre-Xmas slot as well, nearest I could get is next Sunday.
Another one feeling a bit flat, here. My Christmas party has been cancelled, which is probably sensible. Still, I was looking forward to it and although it's better not to do it given the news in the last couple of days, I wish circumstances might have allowed it. As it is, we're safe here so that's fine but apart from OH and a couple of shop assistants, I've not met anyone 'real' for nearly 2 years and it's looking like being well into spring before I can get out of the house.
meh

That is a great shame @raisingirl, I know you were looking forward to that. I'm really surprised you haven't 'met' anyone close for that long though. Do you not have any relatives or friends near where you live?Β
Just spoken with little sis., she has finally recovered from COVID, although is still very weak. She is fit and healthy, 59, double jabbed, but, is a teacher.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Sadly not, she is a special needs teacher at a private school, but they only pay her if she is there, she is essentially part of the gig economy, which I find mind blowing.
