Morning all. Extra care in the shower required all round I think - thanks for the (albeit painful) reminder that we need to be careful in there Dove! We'll be getting our tree later. Wow @Nanny Beach - what a treat for you! I'm a muesli girl myself but I do like it when my OH brings it to me in bed. And what a lovely bucketful you have @Pat E
I've just had my 'supervised shower' ... OH stuck the mat down very firmly indeed and it was perfectly secure ... it just shows that yesterday's acrobatics were all my own fault. Im fine but my left wrist is a bit sore ... I'm using the black velcro splint that I had when I broke it a few years ago, and that's making it much more comfortable. OH is at home today so I'll have a quiet day ... a bit of work on cards in the studio and supper is an easy favourite ... pork chops cooked 'a la Toad in the Hole' .... delicious with lovely oniony cidery gravy ... I told the butcher about cooking his big bone-in pork chops like that ... he'd not thought of that but thinks it sounds really good ...
Loving the Archers this morning ... thought Natasha might be about to meet her match ... this might be fun mind you, if they end up having to move in with Pat and Tony Hope Eddie is going to take cash up front for that turkey ... I do love Annette Badland ... brilliant actress.

I recently watched an old black and white film, where ‘chop toad’ was on the menu. Sounds even worse than toad in the hole! Which we had for lunch yesterday, but made with veggie sausages and onion before the batter was put on.
Morning all, we've also slept in late. I think I'm sleeping much better in our new brushed cotton bed linen. It's very cosy - perhaps it takes us back to a secure childhood feeling?
We've got sunshine here and it's up to 13c so quite mild. I rather wanted to carry on with the rose pruning but everything is very wet, must have had lots of rain overnight.
Had a text last night from OH saying he was on the bus and would be home about 6 pm, so I thought I'd get some fresh air and walk along to meet him, about half a mile. It was very dark and wet underfoot and I was a bit concerned about the combination of a few pints, a walking stick and the darkness. Waited for the bus which duly arrived - no OH. Decided to walk back home, pick up a torch and my phone which I had forgotten and go to the loo. When I got back, found the the front door locked, chain on and door curtains drawn over. OH had decided to stay on the bus on the new route and get off at another stop, so got back before me. He'd thought I was already in the house somewhere but hadn't checked. Cue, much banging on the door!
Glad you're relatively ok this morning @Dovefromabove. Might you need to have the wrist checked over though?
I've an appointment with a nurse for a blood test tomorrow morning @Lizzie27 ... I'll get her to give it a prod ... but I'm sure it's just a sprain/bruise.

Beautiful sunshine day for my Christmas afternoon tea. All is in place and ready. Putting my feet up now.
Trip trip recover....! Hopefully your fall will not be repeated @Dovefromabove in the not too soon future. I've done it - mid-October - in the dark of the morning, no time to turn the light on - rushing to go to the toilet, tripped and bashed my chin on the side of the bath. I'm slowly learning to take it slowly, not to rush and try not to do 3 things at once and to watch where I'm going! My middle name is Clumsy. In the last 3 years, I seem to have one good cropper a year. (Ho-di-ho !!) Have the bruises checked tomorrow - it's worth it - the nurse will say come back if you think there is something amiss. They take sooooo long to heal - almost a month!
Whoops - nearly forgot! @Lizzie27 That's a good yarn - probably funny, but not for you hammering on the door.
@Pat E Nice harvest. Obviously, for crab apple jelly. Such a long process.
@floralies - Howdy neighbour - glad you have the sunshine too. The rest of France is not in the same way (I just deleted boat, as some parts are flooded!). 16°C here.

@Lizzie27. Have you got your long winceyette nightie on? My mum used to make lovely fluffy nighties when I was small.
