    Hello all.

OH is having a CT angiography scan today. I hope it's OK.

The Carol Service went well yesterday, about 36 people came. The Chapel is small so it looked well filled. People said they liked my decorations.

I watched Strictly then Miss France on French TV. Miss France went on until 12.45am. I picked out 4 girls at the start and one of them one. Do they still have a Miss UK? All the French girls were in full time education, training to be dentists, or pharmacists or bankers etc.

Nearly a mini crisis here. OH went to put the tv on to watch the Grand Prix and the tv wouldnโ€™t come on. Heโ€™d left it to the last minute so didnโ€™t have time to investigate before the start, so he had to watch that on the bedroom tv. All sorted, now he is walking up and down as itโ€™s too tense to watch!

You'd only get me watching F1 if the track was in a figure of 8ย  :D

It seems there are individual Misses for the separate nations and then one Miss GB but I can't remember the last time such things were televised.ย  https://www.missgreatbritain.co.uk/ย  Fingers crossed for your OH.

It is murky and misty here and we had an unscheduled rainfall as we got home from the Xmas market at Aiguillon-sur-Mer.ย  ย Small event but jolly and the lovely seafood stalls at the port were open so we came home with some new ear studs for Possum, 500g of freshly cooked gambas to have as a starter and a seriously garlicky prรฉfou which we have just had with lentil and bacon soup.ย  ย Serious stuff - https://inthevendee.com/prefou-de-vendee-garlic-bread-v/ Good job I have to wear a mask at patch tomorrow!ย ย

I'm off out to see the chooks as OH is watching the GP and then some sewing.ย  Fabric Xmas trees to finish and some more angels for the real tree.

Lovely looking apples @Pat E.ย  Have fun.ย  ย Hope your tea party goes well @tui34 and OH keeps the horses out @floralies.

    Enjoy your afternoon everyone.

@Dovefromabove. I would be more inclined to keep an eye on the bruise on your leg.

  • Evening all,

Sorry to read about your slip @Dovefromabove, nice to hear your OH is looking after you. I always think of you two as being madly in love with each other. ๐Ÿ˜

@Busy-Lizzie, hope Your OH's appointment goes well. I was really sad to hear you're apart for Christmas, Brexit I suppose.... Have you plans to be with your children? My holiday to Corfu was booked (and cancelled) in 2020 and therefore the connecting flights were rebooked and cancelled/ moved forwards. I'm meeting with English friends at Stansted and we're all flying out together so the connections are important. They're cheap at the moment, so I've rebooked ( again). Fingers crossed we get there this time.ย

Feeling a bit sad this evening, we've put the tree up, but having no family ( well a sister that won't talk to me) it always feels a bit hollow. As close as Charlie and I are, he's 14 and the thrill of Santa is long gone and a lovely Christmas dinner passes him by. I do hope he gets married and has lots of children for me to enjoy in my dotage. ๐Ÿ˜ย

Not really Brexit this time @D0rdogne_Damsel. It's just that OH is always waiting for his operation or some hospital test so he can't come back to France with me. Covid has caused more bother than Brexit this last year. That's the trouble when you fall in love with people who live in different countries and have families in different countries. Though Brexit hasn't helped, before all this we were quite happily living together and spending time in each country.

Being home alone, used to be fun, but when you are feeling crap, it is anything but, and I have a week of this to endure.
