That's a big disappointment @D0rdogne_Damsel for both events, no wonder you need a glass of wine. My DIL has just messaged me with her glass in hand, after a busy week. She very kindly gets the grandchildren's presies for me and wraps them (!), I just have to pay, job done. She knows just what they would like so its easier that way.

My two saucepans arrived and I only ordered them Wednesday, trouble is I got the wrong sizes in error. They are very nice (even if they are made in China, is anything made anywhere else these days) so I'll give the too small one to my daughter, keep the other one and then order the 18 cm size I need. I could return them but would have to pay postage on a large box and queue at the PO so can't be bothered.

The gas man cometh and we will probably need a new boiler next year he says. Ours will be 15 years old then.

    Have a good weekend folks.

@D0rdogne_Damsel, Ryanair usually change their timetables and put on more fights for the summer. Maybe it will connect, seems a bit early to book it now.

I went to the local Carol Service tonight, once upon a time the big church would be full and there was a choir. Tonight there was no choir and there were only about 40 people.

I've done the pew decorations for the Carol Service tomorrow, nearer where I used to live, and I've decorated my little tree and put out the crib. Photos on @WonkyWomble's thread.

Sounds like not worth wasting postage to return the saucepan, Lizzie27. However, worth checking out the Royal Mail Parcel Collect service. I’ve used it a couple of times now. I was able to weigh the parcel at home, pay for the postage on line, and print the label. Then for an extra 70p, I was able to book a collection on a specified day, and the postman came to the house to pick it up. Very efficient, and didn’t have to go anywhere near the queue in the local Post Office.
  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
We use them parcel collection service … it’s very good. They’re due to pick up a parcel this morning 👍
It’s a bright frosty morning here in Norfolk brrr

Morning everyone,  frosty start here too. We heard a pair of Owls 🦉  in the early hours,  real classic twit- twoo. I didn't open the curtains to check as I didn't want to scare them away but they must have been close. 🙂

It's bright and frosty in Dordogne too.

  • Oh dear! That'll larn me! More haste less speed etc ...

Our shower is over the bath ... the bath is slippy so we have a silicon bath mat ... every so often they go mouldy so we get a new one ... this time we couldn't get one exactly the same as the previous ones ... this one is longer and takes longer to unroll and press down to make sure it's gripping ... I was in a rush ... I hadn't fixed the mat down properly ... it slipped ... I slipped ... I did a sort of acrobatic sideways roll as I fell (think Tom Daley) and whacked my left cheekbone and left hip ... thankfully OH heard the commotion and bad language and came and gently hauled me out ... I have been smothered with arnica, dressed and put on the sofa to recover ... I feel such an idiot ... I've been thinking that's exactly what would happen if I wasn't careful  :/

I'll have to go without a shower today ... sorry folks 😳

Both wrists and left little finger feel sore too 🙄

  • I'll recover thanks @Busy-Lizzie :)

He says that next time I have a shower he's coming in with me ... they don't show that sort of 'assisted bathing' in the tv adverts do they 🤣
