@Lizzie27 - just measure the diameter of the pan(s) in cm๐Ÿ™‚. I have one 22cm metal rimmed glass lid in our motorhome (where storage is at a premium) and the one lid fits the 22cm frying pan, the 22cm casserole and the 22cm saucepan (all different makes!) I keep in there.

If you're really not sure Lakeland do a lid which fits multiple size pans but it's not one I would choose.

@Dovefromabove - thanks for that info. The shop looks really good and is in an area we pass through from time to time. Maybe we could meet there to try out their coffee and sausage rolls next year?

    Afternoon.ย

Wonderful news for your Dad and all the family @chicky - thatโ€™s better than any Christmas present!ย

Sorry you are feeling rough Punkdoc. I must say that I keep hearing of negative tests in suspicious circumstances eg. classic symptoms or half a household.ย

    Keep safe and warm folks.ย

@Lizzie27 ย It's a UK recipe Leek and Stilton Tart but beggars can't be choosers, so I have to do with plain old roquefort!! ย In fact, we are rather shy of the white crust of the roquefort (we only like the blue part), so I save the white for cooking.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

  • Fantastic news @chicky, so very pleased for all of you. :)

I get very cross in France trying to buy saucepans @Lizzie27, especially smaller ones, impossible to find ones with lids. I do so many poached eggs I need lots of little ones.

    Hello there @Topbird. :)

Fed up today, a table of 25 cancelledย their Christmas Party with us through fear of Covid, and one of my most flexible staff members has handed in her notice. She has been offered a job with 25 hours a week guaranteed. It's less money per hour but she's guaranteed the 25 hours. I can't promise her 25 but she normally gets up to it. In busy times she gets up to 35, but I understand stabilty is important. Shame, and inconvenient, but she said she will work any spare hours she has in the summer. Two other key staff both have a weekend away booked just before Christmas too, going to be a bit of a struggle. Nothing I can do, both are meeting up with children they won't be able to see at Christmas, so they are going whatever and I absolutely understand their reasons. As ever staffing is a big headache.ย

Also, Ryanair have moved their schedule and now my connecting flights for my holiday in May to Corfu no longer connect..... grww, I now have to spend 36 hours at Stansted as I have to go earlier than needed and stay an extra 24 hours on my way back.ย

I have booked a nice lunch with a friend though, we're going to a swanky restaurant for a nice girly lunch, been a long time since we had chance to catch up. Enjoyed a Lamb Rogan Josh out of the freezer for dinner this evening, the freezer definitely improved the flavour, so not all bad!ย

    Have a good evening all.ย
