I'm not that far from @pansyface, just the other side of the hills and our windows are similarly plastered on the north and west sides. There's about 2" sitting on the tree branches. It looks very pretty and very cold!
I've just ventured out to clear the snow off the little hanging tray on the tree by the back door and re-stocked it with warming goodies and there's a whole mob of birds there now, round it and under it busy re-fueling. The cylinder hangers are full too and the birds are pecking through the snow to reach the seed
Hang on in there @TheGreenMan. You'll be fine It's to settle down later, so just look after yourself. My sister is further east than me and there's certainly been damage through there, but it's mainly further north and east that's affected. Lots of snow [not unusual for the time of year] loss of power [around 80,000 houses at the last count] trains off and bridges closed or restricted etc. High winds and rough weather are a regular feature anyway though at this time of year. We've just had 'normal' wind here in the 40s and 50s - just a bit higher than we had a couple of weeks ago for a few days. At least it's dry though, rather than the usual accompanying rain etc, but there's ice on the pond as it's only around zero degrees just now.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

This storm sounds awful. Hope all are ok. I must say I wasn’t expecting it to be bad here but I’m off outside to rescue pots and chairs as there is a scattering of stuff across the garden.
Anywhere around the location @pansyface and @Buttercupdays are in will certainly be getting some snow, especially at any altitude, so I expect @punkdoc will be keeping tucked in. Stay wrapped up, all of you.

Now it's daylight i can see a couple of trees toppled over across the road, and various chunks of debris piled up. It looks like some gardens have lost shed roofs and other furniture. Only a light covering of snow though.

House is 18 degrees after 7 hours of no heating which is good considering it’s been close to zero all night.
