... but there will be stories of people trying to take pictures on the beach and trying to drive through it all because "they will not be defeated", and all that.  Just as with oceans, fire and snow, people often wildly under-estimate the power of nature with horrible consquences.

The Met have a rare Red Warning on for your part of the country, so, no you are not being a wuss.

Nothing exceptional here (we are on amber warning, I think). Strong winds but it feels like all the other storms that we get 4-5 times per year.

No power now. Looks like the whole village.

And the winds are getting worse.

    Oh dear!

Do you have gas heating and cooking?

Gas heating. Everything else is electric.

Charge your batteries in case the power goes out (and battery packs if you have them). Find your candles. Get some sleep x

It calms down and you think the worst has been and then it gets all angry again.

Thankfully I have a radio that works on batteries and I bought a torch this afternoon!

Norther Power Grid have said most supplies won’t be restored until well into Saturday afternoon/evening!

Oh dear, keep safe all of you.
Very noisy out, here in Devon, but too dark to see what’s going on outside. Lots of tree movement visible when the neighbour’s security light comes on. I expect there will be at least a few branches down, if not trees. Sounds horrid though. Not sure whether to try to get back to sleep, or do some puzzles.

Awake since 3am. Pretty windy out, but I'm just over the hill facing south, so North winds are less damaging around the house, but the woods take a battering further down.
I may have an " interesting " journey to visit Husband this morning.
    Devon.
