LB, I hope that you will manage to send your remaining christmas cards.
Rosie, enjoy your tea with Alfie. Stay warm.
Rainy morning here. The weather is quite opposite of what we had yesterday. I can't continue with my lights at this condition. Today is the day for sow Christmas wheat. It's one of my favorite tradition. I have my cocoa, like few last days.
Morning everyone, feels quite chilly this morning here too @bluebellsinthewild I'm going to pop to the shops today to get the last few bits. Didn't want to leave it this late, but didn't feel like going last week. Hope its not too busy😱 Good to see you @Chivetalking so pleased to hear your mum is feeling better. Bet she had a lovely time out with you and your sister. Will have done her the world of good. @Busy-Lizzie do hope all went well for your OH. Thinking of you both. @Ladybird4 hope your brother gets a buyer soon and he's in his new home soon. Hope Jack feels better soon, shingles is horrible. @Songbird-1 you had a lovely day at the GC glad you found the bird house. Belated birthday wishes to your daughter, sorry I missed that 🎉🎂🎉 Time for another cup of tea. Have a good day everyone
Good morning RosieBB and Ante. Rosie, the radiator is one of Lily's favourite spots Ante, I meant to ask how did your official paperwork go the other day regarding your new business? I hope all is running smoothly.
3 Advent candles lit on your wreath, how quickly these weeks are passing. Enjoy your cocoa and then your winter wheat planting - hope that the rain isn't too heavy for that traditional task.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB, I'll sow wheat in a small pots and place them under the tree, so rain doesn't bother me. Paperwork going very slowly, but I can see the progress. Our bureaucracy is terribly slow, but on the other hand, I want that all is done properly, and I will be completely organic producer, so it's a bit different regulated. I hope to resolve everything at the first half of January.
@Ante30 I thought you were going out to the fields to sow wheat! Why do you put it under the tree?
I'll go out today to get some wrapping paper to wrap the grandchildren's pressies. I thought I had enough, but I don't. Also, I need to buy a couple more small pressies. But, on second thoughts I have to go out anyway tomorrow for the car's new front tyres so maybe I'll do it then. The house needs unmentionable stuff doing to it on floors and surfaces.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning SGL, you snuckered in there, Busy and Ruby Its no surprise you didn't feel like going shopping last week SGL, with that dreadful cold you had. Good luck today.
D'oh Ante, I'm a twonk! I forgot that you planted the winter wheat indoors. You even sent us pictures before. Sorry!
Busy, I will let Ante explain it to you. Its a lovely tradition. I like you first thing, had my head in 'farming mode'.
Ruby, I know that you are always very organised so I'm sure that you have very little left to do.

Oh dear LB, please don't be sorry, it's easy to confuse. 😂
Bussy, tradition here is to sow wheat at St. Lucy day (today), and if the wheat at Christmas is green, thick and lavish, that means that next year will be abundant and fruitful. It's also twelve days before Christmas, and each day represent one month in the next year. It's tradition here and in some other countries, like Italy and Austria, and it's connected to catholic church.
Here are my four pots. One is, of course, dedicated to your gardens. I hope they all will grow well.
We're off to Yorkshire on Wednesday to combine a pre-Christmas trip to MIL with taking OH's camper van for a habitation service in Barnsley. I'm busy today collecting greenery to make up Christmas decos next weekend and generally getting on top of lots and lots of little jobs.
LB - You're right - it was a bum result for Hamilton yesterday and it was the wrong result. What happened yesterday was like a referee deciding not to apply the offside or hand ball rule - on a whim - in extra time - in the World Cup final. Nobody died or got ill but the protests etc being made by the losing team are not sour grapes. They were wronged pure and simple. We know people in the Mercedes team and we sort of know Hamilton (through other people) so we're not unbiased - but it was wrong.
Hazel - sounds as though the birds have suddenly found where the new diner is!
Chive - lovely to 'see' you. Glad your mum is making such good proress.
Ante - I love the old traditions. Thank you for sowing a pot of wheat for our gardens - mine needs all the help it can get!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

It should look like this at Christmas day.
