    Afternoon everybody.
Sorry that I was absent last two days and I didn't yet read back. I think that it's the worst week this year. My saga with delivery continue. Yesterday came my pets food delivery and all cand were damaged, and two of them were open. After three phone calls they will send my new ones. Today finally came my lights, off course wrong colour and one of them don't work. Few minutes ago I finished with those seller. Weather: rain, snow, rain and persistent wind🤮.

I hope that you are all well. Tonight I'll read back so I'm sorry if I missed something important.

    Afternoon all,

I've just had the reply from my last missive to the energy supplier.

Your direct debit has been reviewed in line with the Estimated Annual Consumption (EAC) figures on your account.

Every time you submit a meter reading to a supplier, it builds a picture of the amount you are using. This is how your ‘EAC’ figures are generated, usually taking the last 2-3 years into account to ensure your energy quotes, bill estimates if needed, and direct debit calculations are as close as possible to your actual usage.

All perfectly reasonable but, for the month of November, we still paid more than we used BASED ON ACTUAL USAGE. This has resulted in the energy company having even more of our money in their coffers. I must confess that I've been less than diligent in reading my meter over the last few years (as a side note, I paid to have our meters moved from inside to outside ie. accessible to any company sending round a meter reader whether anyone was in or not). However, we were overcharged by £500 over a period of a year prior to Nov 2021 (based on actual readings!). I'll now wait until January for the next monthly bill. When I receive that, I've got a strong feeling that it is 'kick off' time ;)

Ante who is getting shoddy service and poor merchandise all round be it his pet food or his lights. I feel your anger Ante grrrrr! I think it is getting time for me to bring out:

T'Bird, whatever joint thoughts we sent up about erroneous transfers I have now received 2 emails from British Gas - 4 minutes apart and both full of apologies when its not really their fault though I will never understand why they accepted my electricity but not my gas transfers. Anyhoo, a person is going to call me so it would appear that things are finally falling into place. I'll keep you all posted.
Biglad, with my last energy company I had a reminder email every month to read my meters which I did religiously - so sad that they ceased trading. I do have hard copies of all my statements and photographs of my meters as soon as I heard that they had ceased trading. Now I just need to make sure that my credit is paid back to me. What a mess!

Hazel, a happy birthday to your daughter and I hope that chest infection will pass quickly. Good luck with tomorrow delivery. I'll take your advice and go to bed earlier.

LB, sorry to hear that you caught cold. Take a rest and get well soon.

I hope I don't have to read the meter very often. I had to do it in October as I was out when the man came. It's right under the eaves, have to go up a ladder.

I haven't had any side effects from my Covid booster apart from a slightly sore arm.

I found the tree decorations and lights and the crib in the loft. Will fix it all up at the weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to make decorations to tie to the pews in the Chapel for the Carol Service. I've picked Leylandii and ivy which is drying out in the utility room (rained on this afternoon). I'll make bunches with tinsel, ribbons (found in loft) and star tree decorations.

This morning I did more Christmas shopping and this afternoon I made 45 mince pies.

A very good morning one and all.
Busy, another fun packed day for you yesterday. I bet your festive swags will look lovely on the pew ends. I moved all of my decorations out of the loft 2 Christmases ago as I was not keen on trying to lift everything down from there. Luckily I have the space where my hot water tank used to go and it has made a perfect storage area for Christmassy stuff.
