Rubee, I'm glad that you are negative on Covid test. Have a nice day.
I already was at post office and sent lights back. Now I must wait eight more days to start decorating. I'm quite in the Charlie Brown mood these days. It's finally Friday.
I think I have a slight cold, woke up coughing in the night and nose is runny. 2 yr old grandson has a cold and I saw him and played with him on Tuesday.
Today is decorations day. Also I must finish the cards for people in France as I will see some of them at the Carol Service tomorrow.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello all ... pretty damp out there but not actually raining at the moment.
Sorry to hear so many of you are having tricky times ... hope things improve PDQ.
A friend tells me that she and colleagues received email this week from the firms' payroll manager apologising that they''d been overpaid ... in her case by £95.00 .... and that it would be remedied in the next two months' payments. The next day they had another email apologising that due to an error overpayments had been incorrectly recorded ... it seems that the decimal point was in the wrong place and she's been overpaid £9.50. She says she feels like sayng that it's cost her at least that much in time going through her records to try to reconcile the figures, and she feels that they ought to swallow it. She also hopes that if she makes mistakes at work she hopes that they're as understanding with her as she is with them!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
It's a fine day here which I feel like I should make the most of. Still testing negative although I do have a head cold. OH still cooped up and texting orders
Hazel Happy Birthday to your daughter 🐣. I hope she has a good day. At least the eye tests are behind you now and you can await your glasses. Overall it always turns out to be quite a time consuming event. Did the bin drag this morning so hoping for a collection, fingers crossed. It’s a lovely sunny day and I have bright sunshine filtering in my sitting room. I hope all those feeling under the weather make a speedy recovery. LB love the Charlie Brown scream. We all need one of those! Glad you printed your stamps saves you queuing at the Post Office. Busy your pew decorations sound lovely and the mince pies prepared in time. Lily and Topbird I hope you’ll feel better in the next few days. Dove enjoy your time in the studio. Ante enjoy your day and I hope things will fall into place (meaning hope everything comes together in the end or everything works out). Time for a cup of tea.
Good afternoon everyone. Oh my goodness Hazel, what a twonk I am! 0/10 for observation! So sorry I converted your daughter into your sister. I hope that your daughter has enjoyed her birthday today despite the coughing.
Biglad that wretched cold is definitely doing the rounds.
I made an appointment to take Lily to the Vets today! Hah, she took one look at the cat carrier and me sneaking up with the towel to grab her and legged it upstairs and shot under my bed. I had no chance of getting to her so I had to ring and cancel. I've made another appointment for next Friday - they were all booked up until then - and I'll have to come up with another cunning strategy.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB sorry to hear the sniffles have reached you. It can be rather challenging to get your well loved pet to the vets. Alfie’s snoozing at the moment on the sofa. Sending my best wishes.
LB, you made me laugh with Lily. Maybe you will be luckier nest Friday. Sorry that you must wait so long till next appointment.
It was boring afternoon here. It's still raining so I couldn't do anything outside. I spent afternoon reading and surfing on the net. I found some pretty funny site about people across the pond so here is one brilliant question.
Ante, your joke made me laugh out loud. It has been pouring with rain here and hailing at times too. The first of some Gardeners World winter specials is coming on now so I am signing out for tonight. Have lovely evenings all of you. Chive, thinking about you and the family. Yvie, hope you are ok too.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening all. Had an early start today. Wanted to be at the SM early. It's in the centre of town and, at this time of year, parking becomes a bit of a nightmare. Was there for 8.15, sailed into a parking spot, did a huge stock-up shop (thought about doing one on-line but decided against) and drove out at 9.30. By that time the queues to get in the car park were round the block and 3 cars were racing / doing battle for my vacated spot. Mad!
Replaced the door rope seals on the log burner (slightly more complicated than it sounds!) and wrapped some presents. Now enjoying a G&T in front of the fire.
Ante - our American friends should know that the famous 17C diarist Samuel Pepys buried his (presumably very expensive) parmesan cheese in his garden when the great fire of London was raging in 1666. He obviously considered that the safest place for it. Don't see why we should change now....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
