Evening all, better late than never.

I've read back but I'm too tired to remember much, did feel sorry for Hazel's OH at the optometrists and am totally confused by LB's Total Energy.

I had my booster vaccination this morning. Arm has just staring to ache a little, but it's been fine all day.
Went to the Renault garage to see about winter tyres. The tyres need changing in front, back ones are fine so they will put winter ones on the front. Appointment on Tuesday.

Then I bought a small Christmas tree at the GC. There isn't much room for one. I've put it in front of the French windows as I won't use them in the winter. They lead onto the Terrace but the garden table and chairs are in the car port barn for the winter.

Did a food shop at the SM and started Christmas shopping.

Gosh that sounds like a load of flap doodle to me LB .I hope TE gets back to you with some good news and without the Borisisms. Hazel I hope your OH eyes are feeling alright now .I am still a bit under the weather .keep safe everyone . Goodnight .
  • Oh goodness, I've just woken up on the sofa, I must have been asleep for at least a couple of hours. This bug has really taken it out of me, I'm been so tired all day. Do hope I sleep tonight now.
Sorry haven't read back, but will in the morning. Hope you're all well.
Night night everyone, sleep well. See you in the morning.

Good morning all. Early start today and we are having a new computer system fitted at work so no doubt it will be a difficult day. Why not wait until Saturday when we are much quieter or Sunday when we are closed? Annoying!

Good morning Debs and all to follow. I often think that about road works Debs. How was your day yesterday?
Busy, you had a running around sort of day so I hope you take things a little easier today.
Sorry to hear that Ruby and SGL are still fighting off feeling poorly. I am coming down with another cold - joy! Have cancelled going to my Canasta Christmas lunch on Friday - just to be on the safe side. Still going to Bestie's today. Hot gossip and loads of tea! Her Christmas grotto - thanks to her daughter is taking shape nicely.
Hazel, your story about energy companies did cheer me up a little so thank you for that. I am just angry at the way TE told me that they were sorting it all when in fact they lied to me and did nothing at all. I think that they were hoping i would just give in and go away.

@Ladybird4 I think a lot of people would give up thinking it not worth the bother that’s why they do it. Well done you for persisting. Have fun with Bestie.
Hope all of you in the poorly corner feel better today. Keep warm and drink lots and rest as much as you can.
Work was ok yesterday but not looking forward to today.

  • Hello all …. My sympathies @debs64 … the shop chain a friend works for had a new IT set up installed in their branch just as a major Sale period started … staff were not amused!!!

OH is at home today … I will be working in the studio … I’d better get a move on … have a good day and hope the poorly are better soon …

    Morning all.

I need to get a move on too. Should be another busy day. Need to do more Christmas shopping, make mince pies and decorations for the Carol Service on Saturday, find the decorations in the loft where there are still unpacked boxes, and decorate the tree. But there is tomorrow as well.

@debs64 I don't think there would be a hope of anyone fitting a new computer system in France at a weekend, especially a Sunday. Food shops, but not big SMs can open on a Sunday morning. Everything else is closed; it's a day of rest, visiting the family or taking the children to sporting events.

    Morning!

LB - I think we're living parallel lives! That email you've had is incredibly similar to nonsense communications I had from British Gas. The best was 2 emails I had from them sent 2 minutes apart. The first was saying "Sorry you're leaving us". The second was "Welcome to British Gas - thank you for choosing us".

I thought that was their incredibly clumsy way of switching my tariff (which I had instigated) especially as it was followed by details of my new contract. But it wasn't - it was an even clumsier way of telling me my account was being closed. If the emails had been sent the other way around I might have picked up on it - maybe - but why not make it a whole lot more obvious???

Have you contacted Brit Gas directly? I have to be fair and say that once they initiated the ET procedure on my behalf they handled it quickly and very well. I received regular texts from a named customer services agent who correctly actioned every mistake or query I had with my account and I was able to just text him when I had a question. I think the formal advice would have been for me to contact the company who hijacked the leccy meter (ie Scottish Power) but the system worked well with BG sorting it out on my behalf.

Apologies to the rest of you for boring energy sagas!

Also - what's this about you getting another cold? Last night I was cough cough coughing and I had a sore throat so I could be getting one too...

We're going up to see MIL next week which won't be great if I'm streaming, but we'll still go. She's full of it at the moment so there's no chance of me infecting her.🤧

Best wishes to anyone under the weather.

I'm away to do a big stock-up-of-heavy-stuff online grocery shop then a visit to another wood burner shop then finish the seasonal decs. SYL!
