I've just been reading a report on an a US drug study that says codeine is OK past its date. Most drugs in tablet form last a lot longer than the sell by date, but not so in liquid form. Not aspirin and not antibiotics.

    Good evening, by the way.

Shattered tonight. I’m going to make a nest and settle in for TV and a cheeky custard slice. Its all go here!

Hope you all ok and don’t have any of the horrid weather to contend with this weekend. Think we will get away with just some cold here.

Thanks @Busy-Lizzie, that's put my mind at risk. I'll pass your comments onto OH and then it's up to him.

@AuntyRach, we're doing the same tonight. Looking forward to watching the Irish Gardener programme later. Lovely, slow, TV. It's dry here but cold. Son is watching Bath Rugby right now I believe, hope they win tonight just to cheer him up. Weather forecast a bit dire for tomorrow I believe. Sorry you've had a busy week again.

  • Hello everyone - hope everyone is staying warm and dry in this chilly spell! Have had various family "stuff" and house things breaking down "stuff" to deal with ( yet again... hoping 2022 will be better!) , so been lurking silently, but sending hugs and good wishes to all those that need them. On the off chance , does anyone have any recommendations for wellies that are warm and somewhat comfortable for slim ( unkind might say twig-like) calves ( ideally not overly expensive, basically for volunteering in the local park)

  • Hiya @Desi_in_London … good to see you …. think several of us are crossing our fingers for a brighter year in ‘22 🙄
’fraid I can’t help with the wellies tho’ … I need exactly the opposite … broad feet, high instep and sturdy calves … can’t get a pair of wellies to fit however much I pay or wherever I look. 😢 Good luck 🍀

@Desi_in_London For my Belgian garden I had 3 pairs of wellies - one short and close fitting for gardening in no socks or thin cotton ones in warm weather; one full length and a size too big so I could get a thicker pair of socks for autumn and spring gardening and then a bigger pair in which I could wear two pairs of socks or thick ski socks for cold weather.  That approach may solve your problem.

  • @Desi_in_London , they are definitely not cheap but you might get a deal given the day, but the only wellies I have ever had where my feet don't freeze  regardless of thick thermal socks etc are Muck Boots.  My legs are definitely Not Fat.😉
Great decadence here tonight we had fish and chips from the shop. Only
1 small chips between us and we still couldn't finish them , mind you the haddock were huge, could almost have managed with just one.

  • Thank you all for the suggestions -- will check out muck boots !

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Hope everyone’s ok and that the storm isn’t causing too much damage. I know from the Storm Arwen thread that some folk have had a grim night and some are without power. Thinking of you all 🤞
