    Hello all.

I'm afraid that patients do die in care homes @Hostafan1, people nearing the end of their lives are the people who live in them, let's just hope that they have had a good and enjoyable life. It's good that the carers care. Hugs to you and OH, you are both going through a very tough time.

Our friends will be coming for lunch soon, must finish preparing the veg. OH has just gone to post my Day 2 Covid test.

@Obelixx I don't yet know how long I am staying here, may be a while.

Yep ... it's one of the sad facts of life and death in care homes ... at the small but Lovely Home where my Aged Ps lived most folk ate their meals communally around a big 'family table' ... the carers made sure that there was never an empty seat ... even if the resident who usually sat there was just having a meal in their room for a change ... they said that an empty seat just looked too sad.

So sad for the carer, Hostafan, it sounds as if their nature fits their job description. Takes a special kind of person to fully engage with others who may not be with them for too long.
Some lovely photos on here in the last few days, good to see people having some fun.

Afternoon people, got the dogs out fairly early to some nice woods,no sign of autumn and you didn't need a jacket on. Quick pop to Sainsbury's. Just Cooked and pickled beetroot. Got jumpers from loft, summer clothes away. Thick curtains hung in lounge
Am very excited! My Birthday,2 (disabled) sons sent message,do occasionally get a card from one,but I know money is tight. Book token from younger daughter,(she'll be round soon with grandkids)AND oldest daughter came round yesterday, with my present,a 5 * experience, and what did she pick!!! Told her if it's a hot air balloon, she can forget it. Nooooh,it's a trip to Bletchley Park.

@Nanny Beach. Nice photo,  I wouldn’t like that hill climb though.
