I do know not to plunge them in boiling water but it's what to do afterwards and which bits to discard @Busy-Lizzie.   Dentist is just a check up and, I hope, no more work needed.  The Dordogne is a much bigger river than anything in the Vendée.  It's all sea fish here but that's to be expected on the coast with fishing ports and oyster and mussel farms.

Just watching David Attenburgh on plastic waste and artificial fibres in discarded western clothes.   Too depressing.   Must be bed time.

Morning all. We had very heavy rain overnight, so that’s good. The garden will benefit at last.

    Good morning folks.

Hopefully a slower day today - still much to do.

    Have a pleasant day all.

Morning all,got up at 7, woken up at 4.30, by the old man creeping round the bedroom with a torch! Good job HE wasn't the night nurse! You're probably wondering why. About 10 days ago, the dog stopped going out the dog flap. We don't know why (he refuses to say) I m dying for a cuppa but he's asleep on the sofa, place is open plan, lounge/kitchen.oh, the old man that is, not the dog
Made the first casserole of the year, veg out the garden,in the slo cooker overnight.weather has been lovely,it's 14c outside now,17c in the conservatory,so more indoors,(take that extinction insulation!) Green house arrived yesterday at 8am,he was out till dusk just the glass to go in. Got fed up with comments,"why do you NEED another green house"!! One is chock full with citrus, overwintering pelargoniums etc. One agapanthus, bananas.one peppers,(was cucumbers as well)  the conservatory has the dinner table, which was full of seedlings, small plants. I grow a lot from seed,so we have another small lean to next to the other one. Needless to say all the sniffy remarks come from non Gardeners! Nearly forgot, there's about 40 dahlias to get in as well!

@Nanny Beach,  you can never have enough greenhouses,  it’s like some people with shoes or handbags!.

Morning all. Lovely and sunny here at the moment but I have too many other commitments that involve being nicely dressed to do any gardening. Did you see Yox Man on Look East last night @Dovefromabove?  A trip along the A12 is in the offing...

I thank you Lyn.we inherited 2 a 6 by 4 lean to and6 by 8 both got power. We treated ourselves to a posh green one 6 by 8, for the veg plot, when we  were both working,   it,t couldn't be any bigger there's a lovely silver birch and cherry tree, not getting rid of them. We have a second 6 by 4,lean to next to the other one. Top one overwinter stuff, can't use for seeds, mice from **"** next door.  Please no one inform them of the other green houses!

Oh no!  I missed it @didyw ... Laurence is a dear friend and former neighbour of mine from way back ...  we've been following the progress of Yox Man on his blog.
