  • I didn't do a lot today either Lynn.  I  did change the tap valves on the shower room hand basin tap. That involved going to plumbing shop to get them but for once it all went smoothly.

@Allotment Boy, I felt so guilty after I'd typed that I did some gardening. Planted two yew seedlings at the top of steps where I'd removed the ailing box balls, a phlox seedling and a small campanula. I also emptied the tomato pots out of the greenhouse and generally pottered around for about hour and a half. So feeling virtuous now.
Watched GW - we'd been to Hergest Croft several years ago, thought it was a lovely peaceful place, especially if you like woodland. If I remember rightly, it had a beautiful hand crafted wrought iron gate somewhere in the grounds. I did buy something at their nursery but can't now remember what it was.

Pleased to report that the farmer opposite allowed the balloon recovery people to retrieve it (probably had little choice) with a 4x4 and trailer. Looked like they had at least six small absolutely fascinated children watching every move.

  • Don't worry @Lizzie27, if anyone should feel guilty it ought to be me. Had planned to do some bulb planting this pm, but by the time we had a late lunch then a friend of ours popped by, that was the end of that. It was pleasant sitting outside till nearly 6pm tho.

Morning everyone. Lovely sunny day here, but prediction for a cold, wet blow tonight. Yeah, yeah. I’ll believe that when it arrives. I’ve been down to the lavender rows and started to prune all the dead sticks off a few of the plants. It’s amazing how long it takes. I’ve decided to just do a similar amount each day if I can. Trouble is I need Hubby to be close by in case a snake makes an appearance like it did last time. Dove, I’ve been thinking about the knitted hats that you’ve been making. Do you put a Pom Pon on them or not. Can’t decide. Kitting them will be a handy way to get rid of leftover yarn which is too short for a major project.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Hello @Pat E 😊. I don’t put a pompon on the hats … I’ve seen that some of the folk who sleep rough etc wear coats with hoods and in the bad weather they pull the hoods up over their hats so I reasoned that a pompon would get in the way.  I make sure that the hats have a generous ‘turn up’ so the wearer can pull it right down around their faces and still have a double layer of knitting over their ears etc.

OH is working today so he’s up and about already … my second ☕️ has just arrived 😊
