Yes I did LB, do hope I'm successful, I've never had Alliums before, I love them and then the dried seed heads later. They are white Mount Everest. I've flicked the heating on, it's very chilly tonight.
Its chilly here too SGL. 9°C outside at the moment but predicted to drop to 4°C tonight. I reckon that could mean a frost tomorrow. The alliums I planted earlier this week were just the ordinary Allium sphaerocephalon. The bubs were tiny little white ones that looked very much like the silver skinned pickled onions you can get.

Well that's 11 weeks completed of a 10-week contract
Lovely day here. Shame I wasn't able to spend all day in the garden. Predictably, I've got more running-around-a-field duties tomorrow. At this rate it'll be mid-winter by the time I can get a good potter in.
Forgot to say when I raided the GC a couple of weeks ago. Was it you @Ladybird4, who put a photo of your Choisya on here some time ago? Anyway, it lodged in the deepest recess and I'm looking forward to this next year.
Oh Wow @Biglad that's a beautiful plant, lovely and bushy. Look forward to seeing the flowers on IT next year. 34 years ago tonight was the hurricane that Michael Fish said wasn't going to happen. I remember that night very well....especially as the rest of the family slept through it 😂😂
LB thank you I will note my meter readings in my diary. I can’t input the electric one on line as they block you entering a lower figure. I will email them my meter readings to give to the read dispute section hopefully they’re figures will be in line with mine🤔. I’ll take a photo of my electric meter reading to send to the team on 1st of the month when they ask for our readings. I didn’t take a picture for October so I’ll pop out and do that and send that. Yes you’re right I need to take pictures. Biglad a beautiful very healthy looking plant. Enjoy your duties tmrw. I hope the weather holds. Lily I hope you have another good nights sleep. LB I hope you do too. I know you’re awake at times. Wishing you a better night. Goodnight Rubee hope you have a restful night. Goodnight everyone.
I don't remember that hurricane as we were in France, but my sister told me about it and sent photos. We had our hurricane in December 1999, just after Christmas. An oak tree fell on the dormer window of the spare bedroom. No water or electricity or phone for about 10 days. We used the water from the swimming pool to flush the loo. My house was 1km down an unmade up drive in a forest and trees fell all over it.
I put the plastic cupboard together. It was wedged tightly in it's box and when I managed to get the first side out the other side came too and dropped on my foot, ouch, and chipped the brittle plastic corner off on the garage floor, just where the door attached.
Planted 3 fuchsias, the ground was very hard, has been lawn for years and it hasn't rained for a bit. I added lots of compost but it all took longer than I thought it would.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
A very good morning one and all. Goodness me but it felt very chilly first thing.
Yes, Biglad, it was me who posted the picture of my Choisya and that one you have is a beauty. You won't be disappointed. I hope that it gets a wee bit warmer for you when you are doing your running around the field duties today. SGL, I do remember hearing about the hurricane where Sevenoaks became 0neoak and millions of trees were blown over. It didn't really seriously affect us 'oop north' but it was quite horrifying seeing it on the TV. Busy, it must have scared the life out of you when that tree fell on your spare bedroom window. What a shame about your cupboard. Is it still able to function? Steady as you go with the fuchsia plantings. Have you heard anything about Caesar and how he is settling in at the donkey sanctuary? Now for that cuppa!
