Morning all .... a very sad event ... both for the family involved and for the nation ... when will everyone, politicians and media especially, learn that rabble-rousing speeches and divisive politics create a rabble and endangers everyone.
It's a grey damp morning here in Norfolk .... I've put socks and a cardi on (as well as my usual range of clothing)
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thank you all for your concern about my foot. There is just a small purple bruise, doesn't hurt any more. I stuck the corner up with duct tape, I'll just have to be a bit careful when opening the right side door. It'll do for gardening gloves, fertilisers etc. The garden shed ex chicken house has a bit of a leak when it's wet and windy, just where I'd left some gloves and BF&B.
It was awful about Sir David Amess, he sounded a really nice man. Leaves a wife and 5 children, but they are grown up.
It's cold and foggy this morning.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all. A lazy start to the day. Was planning to chop up some prunings and hedge trimmings with the lawn mower and give the grass a cut - but it's drizzling. Not in the forecast so we'll see if it dries up later on.
Very sad news about David Amess. I think he was one of those MP's who held no great government office but worked very hard for his constituents - he was often on the local news. I see the PM, Keir Starmer, Home Sec and the Speaker visited this morning to lay flowers. What with that and the police investigators I imagine Leigh is not the easiest place to move around today. Hope it isn't all affecting @Chivetalking too much - I think she lives there?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Its good to see you Hazel but what a chapter of incidences for you. Chin up Chuck. These are the times you just have to keep going with your head up. We are all thinking about you. T'Bird, you are correct, Chive does live in Leigh-on-Sea so this awful news will have rocked her and her family too. My local forecast for next week is for rain every day until Friday. Joy!
I have got just a few more bulbs to plant so will hopefully get that task done today. I've filled the bird feeders at the front of the house so that should keep those little feathered friends happy for a while.

Hazel lovely to see you . I hope things settle down for you and your family .Don’t forget to look after yourself. It’s drizzling here too TBird . I think I will do some crafting today . I had my COVID booster jab at 9-50. The procedure at the docs was like a conveyor belt . Give your name , stand there , follow me , walk to the end of that corridor , come in here , sit down ,give your details ,have the jab , follow Tracy , Tracy takes me back into the waiting room ,sit there if you are ok you can go in fifteen minutes .The whole thing made me laugh . But it was very efficient .
Hi Ruby, that rigmarole made me smile as getting my flu vaccine was very similar. I am enjoying my elevenses which seem to be going on a lot longer than usual. Could be displacement activity! I got some Reblochon cheese the other day in 'sco with the rather crazy idea of making tartiflette. I am going to have to do something with it today as the smell when I open the fridge is beginning to overpower!
