Inspired by Mr vine eye, I've had a crack at putting a vase together for my wife's return home, odd that so much is still flowering under a week from November in the North of England! Contains Gabriel oak, Young lycidas, Eglantyne, Eustacia vye, brother cadfiel, Mary Rose, some Asters, geranium and bits of a silver centaurea. I can't arrange flowers as you can see, but it brightened the room up!
Deep Secret is going to get another year @dabolem, because of the colour. Roses often grow out of awkward habits and get more floriferous in time, but when a new one has very poor resistance to disease right from the start, that’s when it gets put on my watch list 🧐 I am also trying very hard to give HTs a chance, but they just don’t speak to my heart in the way that other forms do, so one has to be really good to win my approval!
My Delbard order arrived today, very neatly, individually packaged and looking healthy. French suppliers do like to root prune to squeeze them into short delivery boxes, but doesn’t do any harm and at least it makes planting out easier.
From L-R - Folle Courtisane, Souvenir de Marcel Proust (floribundas), Dominique Loiseau and Avalance Abricot (polyanthas):
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@dabolem I have Royal Jubilee, but it’s in full sun as a free standing shrub. In this way, it’s narrow and upright, with nodding blooms. @Mr. Vine Eye has it trained on wires I believe so may be of more help.
Coincidentally I also have a little bouquet which has Royal Jubilee with Lady Emma:
Lady Emma has a similar coolish pink on the outer petals which looks nice with dark cool pinks, like Royal Jubilee, and it looks nice with Munstead Wood too, being a dark magenta.
I like very much the purple of your Forever Royal @Marlorena and I am very envious of your Mutabilis, maybe sooner o later I’ll give it another try (the one I planted died miserably in its first year).
Today I planted the Zephirine Drouhin by the arch (yes, I changed my mind, I will not move the MAC, too much trouble since it is very big. I’ll see next year, if I really can’t stand it in that spot, maybe I’ll just prune shovel it).
I think I’ll move Lavender Lassie (which now is in too much shade and is not growing not flowering) to put it on the other side of the arch, I hope the colours will look good together.
Then I put the Pink Cloud at the end of the garden. Let’s hope to see some flowers next Spring!
@Rickyjones24 You have done a great job there, everyone's arrangements are looking great. Without frost in the forecast (at least here) I am hoping we can enjoy roses a while longer. Seems only fair after the late start. @Marlorena's garden is lovely as always.
Those roots look good @Nollie, I hope these are successful for you. DA sent me a message saying ORA on its way, even just the email still excites me.
Looking out over water and having the wildlife that it attracts around is one of life's great pleasures @dabolem , lovely.
Lovely flower arrangements. Cheering me up while I am lying on sofa. I have caught covid, after kids had caught it. I am vaccinated and have mild symptoms. Mainly very tired and some sort of brain fog. I have ordered three roses from TCL. Now all that shipping just for three roses! I need to blame brain fog for it lol 😅
I keep smelling golden celebration to make sure I haven't lost my sense of smell.
Ah, Olivia Rose Austin - took me a minute to work that one out @Tack 🤔
I have been looking at umbrella supports for my standard Ghislaine de Feligonde, even though TCL hasn’t confirmed the order addition yet. I keep anxiously checking my emails and availability on the website. I think it will look good on one as I suspect it will have a weeping/cascading habit.

Thanks @Omori then I think I will get Royal Jubilee near my LEH and let it grow up one of the porch pillar, in part shade, and hope it flowers all the same.
yes @Tack we have all sort of aquatic birds and life here, in summer we almost can’t sleep when frogs are in mass under our windows, such concerts during the nights, lol
lovely bouquets all of you. I don’t know why, but it never occurred to me to cut roses and carry them at home, it’s not a thing I would think of doing until now. Next year I will try too.
