I'll take one for the team if the new DA is a yellow😉 Actually I don't have any space for a short shrub, only for a couple of 6 footers and a bendy climber but if it was a strong yellow, on the lemonskin to dandelion scale I would probably be tempted.
I would have guessed I had recently upped my rose count to around 50 having just found spaces for 8 pots and gotten rid of a bit of lawn, but a thorough audit revealed as follows:
77 roses (1 of each) 11 DA (6 new) 10 pots (8 new) 12 once-flowerers (I think they're worth the space)🤔
Roses are really versatile though aren't they so it is easy to have lots. I have over 80 clumps/pots of named daffodils and considering the short flowering period/habit/limited variance in height that's a little more questionable😁
Fab video from @Mr Vine Eye everything looking very smart! Have you considered evergreen ferns for the gaps? Not sure how wildlife friendly they would be though.
@Marlorena I keep forgetting my password and after several times of resetting and I notice my username changed too😆😆😆 .. my name is Ashley . I remember the previous username is something Ashley something .. I’ve been following you since 2019, and I was too shy to post anything ., I always quietly enjoy the beautiful roses here until I encountered some issue with mine .. yes I will share some of my roses in summer . Hopefully they bloom gracefully
I am feeling way less guilty about smuggling in more roses after the stats sharing hubby teases im an addict
A lot of mine are from recommendations / inspiration / droolworthy pics posted on this forum and the healthy state of them is definatley influenced by the advice here too. Thanks everyone
On the new DA im hoping they are nice ones as I fancy a treat after a horrible year so far with losing my hound, so I will find a spot! Id like a few more potted and minatures.
Going to have to replace shed under Albertine / wedding day later in the year which will be a task....
@JessicaS Your hubby is right.. you are an addict.. we all are..
Thanks @edhelka for the story behind roses.. makes it all the more interesting/ desirable..
@endeavourlondiniumE32axz5M I started with 1 rose, Double delight, Indoors under lights.. Everything else was added over time... point is, if you hang around longer, you will feel a lot lighter on your wallet and of course your heart will feel lighter as well
My stats,
45 varieties (Total 46, excluding the cuttings from this year)
16 DA's
Hoping to include old varieties slowly, hence taking opinions from the experts here..
oh ok, thanks... I remember an Ashley, so great to see you again... we always want to hear about roses even if you only have the one... all good.... speak again soon..
Enjoying all the numerical collections... @Victoria Sponge you're another who has far more than I expected.. I'm glad to see it's not only me that's been busy..
I don't post much but I have been enjoying going through all posts. I've felt that I am obliged to post this time. I am afraid to say that I have total of 128 roses (112 unique + 20 newly planted bare roots this year). Certainly DA is the highest - 79 but would like to acquire some more! And Kordes - 7 comes next
Please don't mistake my silence for ignorance, I am shy and I don't talk much in general.
