Is it too late to prune your roses now? I think I’ve always made the mistake of not pruning them hard enough so the flowers are always a bit too high up to appreciate.
@edhelka I ordered two 3l plants - Illumination Flame and Berry Canary, one of
each.
@Marlorena just to say, Digitalis Illumination 'Raspberry Improved' did not survive
a winter here in East Anglia... and I mulched it too... so, I haven't
tried it again since.. I would question that -10C hardiness.
Scouting
around just now it seems that of the four I bought last year, two look
like they have carked and two are fine. We haven't had anything below
about -3oC. So, no, not impressed. Foxgloves are supposed to be rock
hard.... Or so they say. Not these cultivars. I haven't lost anything
else in mulched pots.
I’ve just ordered some digitalis ‘Goldcrest’ which are supposed to be hardy to -15, except in exposed, windy conditions and fine for partial shade. I wasn’t confident the digiplexis type would survive my winters. Orangey yellow with pink is usually a no-no in my garden but since I have a Mutabilis in that North border, rules have already been broken!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
