That is frustrating @Fire, I wonder whether it is labour or delivery related? I guess I shouldn't expect mine ordered last week for a while then. I hope they don't get dug up and put in a chiller for ages.
My Royal William is totally defoliated but blooming away too @Lizzie27, I agree the red is a gorgeous velvety colour, very visible in the border. I think it is lovely you have this to remember your father, mine died coming up for 6 years ago and it seems so recent still.

@Tack and @cooldoc The person that I spoke to said they will be sent when the roses are "ready in the field". City of York, Ghislaine de Feligonde and Lilac Bouquet (presents) and Flanders for me.

@Fire,  that probably means that they don't have enough workers in the fields digging them all up at a guess.

It's not a particularly big issue, but I was trying to be organised in sorting out Christmas presents well ahead of the rush/Royal Mail collapse/Covid & Brexit staff postal squeeze. I'm not going to be super impressed if the roses turn up in Febraury.

I used to think of April as start of Spring Gardening but yes Feb 1 is better, less waiting time :)

I like the feb idea too! Mind you im not done with my winter jobs yet, ive still got summer bedding out and bulbs to plant!
In the highlands for a few days, passed quite a few roses out still including a very distinctive summer song, gorgeous. Very mild still...
