@fire I’ve left mine for a week before, once when I got really ill and couldn’t deal with them, but probably more like 24 hours would be max.

@Fire Not that I recommend it, but I've left bareroot roses in bucket of water for up to a month without any problem.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • Oh that's good as I have no idea when it's going to stop raining so I can get my bare roots out @Eustace Wouldn't want to put them back into packaging as it was plastic, but could wrap them in wet newspaper if it's going to be a week.

I think sealed plastic would be best as it will hold in the moisture. @purplerallim

  • I would worry about mould if in plastic @Fire and as you saw they were altogether in one bag.
I have managed to plant out the Love Knot this morning, in the drizzle,  as it was the easiest to dig. The ground was a bit wet, but crumbly enough to dig a good sized hole, then I realised we were out of BFB, so will have to add that on top when I get some. I do have some manure so have added a mulch of that, away from the stem.
