  • @Fire that picture reminds me of a Rose I had at a previous house, very deep red with a fantastic musk scent. I  tried (and failed) to get a cutting to bring with me,  I never did know what it was it was in the garden already. It was a shrub rose only produced a few blooms but they were worth waiting for.

Current similar options might be rosa Deep Secret and Papa Meiland Jubilee. Both have a fantastic scent. Mine are darker than the photos on the given sites. More blood red, less crimson. @Allotment Boy

I've just ordered 3 more roses from Trevor White's...

    'Spong'
    'Reine Victoria'
    and
'Surpasse Tout'  which I notice is being discontinued so I wanted to get one in case it goes out of commerce..

All these roses are highly fragrant..

@Marlorena my clematis Armandii apple blossom looks not far off flowering.

I really hope DA have something nice for us all! If its not one I fancy, I think Im going to order a diamond eyes standard from styles as a treat instead.

Anyone got summer song? I saw it prolific flowering in November in a scottish garden and recognised it as its so unusual. I dont remember seeing many pics on here.

I've just been exploring 'Help Me find' properly. What a great resource all the tabs are.

@JessicaS, I have summer song. It is a good repeat flowering rose, but plant is tall and lanky. Mine is 2 year old now and hasn't grown much side shoots or basal canes. It's couple of tall canes with flowers on. I have hard pruned it again in the hope of getting a bushier shape. Nevertheless I still love it. The flowers are unique.
