Good upright bushes with smooth long leaves of good green. Hispid Hep. This is a spectacular rich, dark purple rose, with expanded shape, flushed with dark crimson, showing a few stamens, and occasionally a white streak or mark. Warm scent. Fine display at midsummer and again later. Perhaps the richest and most effective of dark purple roses. 4 feet.

Of course he would not have seen 'Munstead Wood' when he wrote the above.
@Marlorena, I would have Indigo like a shot if I could work out where to put it. @Cambridgerose12 has it and has posted some beautiful photos in the past, maybe you could share them again so we can drool Cambridgerose?
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I will have 15 varieties in, none in pots. One Austin (MW). There's been a big jump for me over the winter. Before I mostly had climbers; now I'm all over the place. 🙃
Oh dear. 80 varieties (I have no more than 1 of any) of which 19 are DAs and with 55 in pots. This is exactly what I have right now of which 2 are growing on as gifts and no allowance for a new DA purchase
I suppose saying I have been sent 3 roses in error but was allowed to keep them doesn't actually mitigate much.

In the pot last year, moved to the ground for this year.
Enjoying all the rose chat, everyone
The final uncharacteristically pink bud I had pruned off Wollerton Old Hall has blossomed in the rain
How many roses do you all anticipate having at the start of the season, allowing for any not received.. I've allowed for 1 new Austin addition..
I shall have 61 varieties.. of which 15 are Austins, and 6 are in pots..
How on earth do you cope with 83 @Tack!
