If there is any truth in it, I would imagine you would need an awful lot of them, if like many of us you have a fair few roses, and of course they're none too hardy...

...at least it sounds a little easier than this concoction, which I've just translated from a French rose nursery.. apparently it prevents fungal diseases on roses..

''use horsetail manure (mix 1 liter of horsetail manure + 1 half jar of black soap yogurt in 9 liters of water). Spray on the foliage. Repeat every 15 days''

Anyone know what ''black soap yogurt'' is?  thanks..

She looks the same as my new Chandos Beauty @Zugenie!  As in really small.

..I think a dark colour fence is best for roses, it really shows them off better... I like your wiring, gosh, so professional..

@Lizzie27 I’m hoping it’ll be off now and put on some lovely growth! Thank you!

@Marlorena thank you, I agree!! I love how it makes the colours stand out

I hope you're enjoying your new job, life sounds quite hectic for you right now..

.. how wonderful to get a free rose from youtube.. you have friends in good places.. and what a rose too! look at size of it and all those canes.. very impressive..

Re that Houzz link.. they mention Peter Beales, which is correct.. he used to advise spraying water over the leaves early morning to dislodge any spores that have settled during the night...  not something I've ever done mind..

I find the best course of action is not to worry about it too much, then I can turn a blind eye a bit easier - within reason..

Gruss an Teplitz is a gorgeous dark red rose with a heady scent.  I used to have it here, I don't recall it budding up this early though..  good to see..

@Marlorena I had seen a few pics of her from your garden.. she looked fab.. I will be happy if she reaches even half of that, given that she is in a pot..

regarding youtube; I don't know him personally.. just happened to be the 1st one to comment on a rainy day when I was sitting at home and probing Youtube rose vids.. (as @Nollie is doing right now :# ) but what a fantastic guy.. took all the pain to send the rose over after making sure that he soaked the roots for a day.. It was left open here for 3 days by my OH.. hope it survives..
