Lovely sunny day here - perfect for Dove's drive to Devon!
That seems to be the destination for holiday makers at the moment.  The Suffolk coast was busy during the summer but has quietened down now - it is now the turn of the locals who are again visiting Southwold etc.  We haven't been (even though it is less than half an hour's drive away) - probably leave it a bit longer...

If you pick this up before your lesson on double digging, might you ask if there has ever been any " double blind " experiments to establish if it actually works?

I've tried and failed to find anything other than hearsay  and theory.

You'd think that some horticultural place of learning , somewhere in the world, at some point would have conducted such an experiment. but I can find none.

How weird, fine and dry here east of Exeter. We’ve been out shredding laurel in our shirt sleeves.

Drizzle here, on and off. Must be drifting in from the NW and @Egrates is in the Dartmoor rain shadow. All your share is probably at Lyn's house

  • Hello folks … we’re here just outside Okehampton … it’s drizzling but only the last 20 miles … we’ve made amazing time … think George enjoyed a good run out.
We had 2 short stops to ‘stretch our legs’ and refuel (George and us) … now I’m going to collapse on the bed while OH makes coffee and organises us.
    We’re going to @Hostafan1 ‘s in the morning 😃

  • Hi all,

Busy day off, shopping for a private dinner at CdeG on Saturday evening, a business meeting of some sort. I won't be there I'll be at the Catering show in Lyon, but doing all the preparations.

Also done a little bit of clothes shopping, I've no autumnal clothes it seems....😅

And horrible French paperwork again, had to register with customs for U.K. deliveries of cake boxes and cake boards and new teapots. So much red tape, then also had to register at the tip for taking cardboard, they've sussed it's too much for personal use. 🙄 I wouldn't mind, it's just the forms required in triplicate and lack of opportunity to do it online.

Had to buy a small window for the new kitchen and can't do that online either. Had to drive to the shop to order and now have to drive back in 4 days to collect. 😡

Sorry, I should be on the grumpy thread. 😱😅😁

Glad you've got where you needed to in good time @Dovefromabove, don't forget to give @Hostafan1 a big hug from me too.

Right, must get a move on, need to find Pakchoi if possible. And popcorn!

Movie night with Charlie this evening, we're watching Black Widow, I'll probably fall asleep, but Charlie will be happy to snuggle up to me.

    Enjoy your evening all.

Afternoon all, we must have passed Dove somewhere en route as we're now home. Had a bit of drizzle but mainly dry and a good run back. We've had a lovely relaxing time in sunny Devon but now glad to be back home. Doesn't look as though there's been any rain here though so lots of watering required tonight.

Hope everybody's okay, will read back later.

If you stay awake @D0rdogne_Damsel then you will see the bit that was filmed where we go walking - it’s the bit where a helicopter crashes into a bridge 🤣
