Good luck to Mr Chicky, I hope he finds petrol. OH went to Morrisons yesterday for food. There was no one at their petrol station but there had just been a delivery so he filled up. Word must have got round because when he came out of Morrisons there was a big queue at the pumps.
Daffodil planting today. I've woken up with back ache, which I haven't had for a while.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning folks. Ergates, the fact that darker skin folks were so badly affected by Covid, and were found to have very low vit D levels was very well published. ",White" skinned, you only need 10 minutes in the sun. I wear factor 50 on my face, blue eyed blond (originally,) and have had skin cancer. I originally joined the Covidence Vit D trial last year. I take a high strength dose 800ug, daily. The darker skins don't absorbe it from the sun as well. A friend of my oldest daughters,Steve and his identical twin brother got Covid March 2020, both ventilation, Bobbi home after 5 days. Steve in a nursing home,52 years old,no underlying health issues, black British.
That's a lovely sky Pat, we are cloudy and drizzly here at the moment.....the weather maps say we have sun! OH is trying to dig up Bindweed which has taken over a lot of the rose bushes, It will be a losing battle. I'm having my nose cauterized this afternoon so catch you all later.
Hi everyone, I should be at Capel Manor today, but apart from using my precious fuel, I am not prepared to sit in the traffic jams past the 3 petrol stations on the way. The whole topic of Vit D & covid is very well covered by Dr John Campbell on U tube. He is worth looking up.
Bloody fuels I say! But why are the petrol stations allowing people to buy it in drink bottles, buckets, carrier bags. Says on line you can legally store 2 X 10ltr containers. Neighbours just back from Devon, said there was no problems, perhaps it's worse here in the SE because of commuting to London etc
Bloke over the road installs mobility aids, said he was going to London the following day IF he could get diesel
Hope all goes well for you @floralies. Lovely sky @Pat E. Hope everyone who needs fuel is able to get it. Not a problem for us as we have half a tank and hardly go anywhere. Seems this is a media led shortage as there are enough fuel tanker drivers - there are not enough HGV drivers, which is different. Heard a Polish HGV driver being interviewed who said they normally work on long term contracts so why would they stop a regular job to come here for 3 months, with all the paperwork that entails? And they couldn't go back with a full load as they would have all of the customs checks to deal with. He was asked if there were HGV driver shortages in Poland and he said yes, but drivers from Romania, the Czech Republic etc just pop over to fill the gap. And there supermarket shelves are full.
Windy here - no gardening for me today. We have a 'do' this evening which we just realised involves food but not sure what. It's from 7pm - 9pm. Dinner beforehand if the food is merely nibbles? But if its more substantial?

Lovely autumn morning - a garden fire somewhere smells delicious in the cool morning air.
Spring - no, autumn cleaning, cupboards, behind dark places etc. getting a thorough doing.
Have an enjoyable day everyone especially those at the brunt of the "funny" person on Sunday.
