Said I didn't want to get stick in the fuel queues, and use too much myself. Taking her for her booster tomorrow,it's in the shopping mall, and I have an airer to collect from there,so win win.

Just back from having my flu jab, dropping some jigsaws into a friend and collecting my Avon book.  Only 2 cars in the petrol station, both at pumps. All is well with the world in Devon.

@Dovefromabove   If the Vitamin D in the sun helps to stave off Covid, then it doesn't seem to be working down here.  Maybe not the same sun!!  :D

Maybe it’d be worse without it ? 😉

Afternoon all, having a rather lazy day here. We had lots and lots of rain yesterday so the garden looks quite (hopefully) saturated. it was dry for our daily walk but just as I was thinking at lunchtime of doing some gardening, we had a short sharp shower. Just enough to make all the plants too wet for me to want to get out there.

Lovely photos @Dovefromabove, those seas look very rough though. We're still trying to get over all the full Devonishs we had last week. I was disappointed that between the full Devonishs and lovely dinners, we didn't have  any room left for a Cornish cream tea or icecreams either.

300 bulbs sound a lot @Busy-Lizzie, that will make you ache. Have you got a long handled bulb planter thingie? They were featured in this month's GW for the Best Buys feature. I haven't got round to buying any yet but am meeting a friend on Friday at a GC for coffee/cake/car wash/shopping - could take some time.

  • It's mostly been a glorious day here, one heavy shower but not until after getting the kids home from school, which makes a change!

I was supposed to be volunteering at a new mums group this morning but it ended up cancelled because the health visitor, feeding counsellor and other volunteers couldn't make it due to fuel or illness. It's such a shame, we're only just back to face-to-face support after covid.

Did mean some good garden pottering time for me though. Got more of my biennials in the ground. Feel almost organised until I remember all the other things I need to move and plant before winter,

Much worse @Dovefromabove   We'd have to go into sun rooms, much like the Siberians!!

  • Good to have pottering time @CharlotteF (and welcome) … I’ve got loads of time to potter as im retired,  but somehow I seem to use it all up … 😉

    Evening folks.

Looks like you are having a lovely holiday Dove.

Booster jab tomorrow so dreading Friday as I usually feel as rough as a badger’s ear after the COVID jabs 🤕

    Hope everyone doing ok.

@Nanny Beach. Badgers ear,  that’s posh, not what we say down here😀
I’ve  not heard anything about the booster COVID.
