Hi folks. Sorry I’ve been absent but my lovely grandsons shared their tummy bug and it’s taken awhile to feel like posting without moaning. I did read back but left the post to take a call from Merri and now I’m struggling to remember what you all said. I know Dove is off on hols and Chicky is going to Chelsea. So I hope you both have a good time. Congratulations to whoever is celebrating their Silver Wedding. We spent ours in Sorrento. I’m heading West tomorrow for a few days in North Wales with Bestie. Thought about Devon but after the last horrendous journey of 8 hours we decided against it. Sorry if I’ve missed anyone out.
Oooh poor you @Yviestevie … amazing the generosity of small children isn’t it 🙄 Give yourself time to get your strength back … you’ve had a flippin’ tricky year ((hugs)).

Back from first class at new dance club. Nothing but tango and lots of technique and posture. Good. In good time for watching the Bake Off too @AuntyRach .
Have a lovely time in North Wales @Yviestevie. You deserve a bit of a break after the year you've had. How's OH doing with his recovery?

I am on a bit of a rollercoaster today, car passed it's C.T. (MOT) test, after 359€ worth of new brakes. Eek!
I am fed up because restaurant has gone quiet, pleased I have caught up with paperwork, and now set myself up with a ridiculous amount of challenges to build up winter trade - why I ask myself.... can't help it, but have Quiz Nights, a Cinema Club, a Halloween Party, several Christmas Party nights organised, Christmas Craft Fair, Christmas Afternoon Tea, Breakfast with Santa and Boxing Day Brunch all advertised and a huge collection of Christmas Cakes and Puddings, Cupcakes and Christmas Biscuits all for sale on the website.
We were interviewed live on France Bleu Limousin this morning too - " why should people come to your restaurant"? We were suitably bubbly and enthusiastic.
On the radio again next week to advertise the Cinema Club

Thanks for all the good wishes folks, we've had a lovely day in the sunshine, a steam train trip followed by a ferry trip followed by some scrumptious sweet crepes for a lunch snack, I had Nutella and fresh strawberries and Oh had a lemon and sugar one - totally decadent but what the hell. We've just been out for a very good sirloin steak, then a rhubarb, apple and blackberry crumble with custard - absolutely divine all washed down with a bottle of fizz. Blow the calories for once.
@Lyn & @Hostafan1, you weren't joking about the crowds in Devon, were you? Both the train and ferry were jampacked and standing room only on the quay. Really surprised but not anxious.
Glad the mammogram went okay @Busy-Lizzie, I don't like them either. The new dance class sounds good @Obelixx, I wish I had your energy, as well as DD's. Shame about the tummy bug, @Yviestevie, I'm not surprised you felt wiped out. Hope you enjoy your trip and @Dovefromabove as well. Apparently there are lots of unsold tickets for Sunday at Chelsea, hope Chicky enjoys her day. Time for sleep I think, it's quite exhausting all this enjoying oneself.
Much excitement in Melbourne today. They got shaken by an earthquake. It brings back memories of my years in Darwin. Ornaments being shaken off the dressing table and pictures hanging askew, etc. Also, when at work one time, everyone running out of the office block onto the street, no using the lift. We were both working on the 4th floor at that time. (Dept of Health).
Sunny and cold again this morning, but the wind has dropped, so I’m getting the washing done at last. I’ve been hanging on because I didn’t want to have to unwrap everything from the lines, especially the sheets.
Chelsea was amazing 🤩. So lovely to see all those late summer plants getting a chance to shine. Home now, exhausted but happy. Will sort out my photos tomorrow but I think this one captures the vibe …..

Happy Anniversary @Lizzie27 - enjoy trip away.
I bet Chelsea is gorgeous @chicky - I’m loving the look of the September planting and the balcony and house plant displays this year.
I hope everyone else is doing ok.

Another groundhog day here.
Get up, have breakfast, do covid test, go to nursing home, come home again.
