  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️ and happy anniversary @Lizzie27 🥂
    it’s a bit foggy here this morning … OH is opening up the shop today so an early start … but he’ll finish at lunchtime and then it really will be  holiday preparation in earnest …
    Hope the car and the paperwork go smoothly @D0rdogne_Damsel 😊 👍

    @Lizzie27

    Busy preserving and freezing spoils from the garden at the moment.  Neighbours are glad of a bag of ratatouille vegetables.  Then starts the big clearing and tidying up.  Brassicas coming along nicely but some have an ash type substance on them and I also have vine weevils in amongst the leaves.  Still root veggies ok.

    Cold mornings now, wind and some spots of rain.  Autumn!

    @D0rdogne_Damsel  Keep that accountant happy, and he'll look after you!  I hope you have had a good season despite the fatigue and staff worries.

    Have an enjoyable day.

  • Ash-type substance on brassicas can be aphids @tui34. Brush or hose it off.

    @Lizzie27, didn’t hear about that traffic jam, too far away from us. There was a tailback down here on Sunday evening, but they got the road cleared within hours. Shame you got delayed, but now you can relax and enjoy your holiday.
    Well done on your silver wedding. I was trying to remember where we spent ours ( it was 25 years ago! ) Apart, now I recall! OH was on a work thing in Utah, so we just had a phone call. However, I was able to fly over and join him some days later, and we had a road trip including Grand Canyon.
    We celebrated our 50th this spring, courtesy of Waitrose with a Chinese ready meal, some bubbly for me and a bunch of flowers! Thank you, Covid!
    Tree surgeons tomorrow, Donkey Sanctuary again this morning. Absolutely no excuse, and they had run out of Japanese Anemones yesterday. Doubt they’ll have restocked already, but it’s going to be a sunny morning, it’ll be winter soon, and it’s such a lovely place, I can feel my cares and worries fading away when I’m there.
    Hope Punkdoc feeling better, and Hostafan doing ok.

    Happy Silver Anniversary @Lizzie27 👰🏼👨🏼‍⚖️💕. Enjoy your time away.

    On a train to London for my Chelsea visit.  Wardrobe consultation complete ✅ (sister and I turned up wearing exactly the same dress 👗 on Saturday when we went to the theatre - we looked like tweedledum and tweedledee and attracted many amused glances ☺️).  Very excited about my flowery day out.

    But now I need to make the most of this train journey by learning some more Latin names 🥸

    Good morning all.

    I'm going to help sort books in the C of E book barn this morning. They sell second hand books for charity and they've asked for volunteers.

    This afternoon I'm going for a mammogram. The Xray place is only 5 minutes drive away but I've never noticed it, hope I can find it.
