I've just made the second batch of individual apple tarts to take to our do on Sat, they turned out well, except for one which somehow fell onto OH's plate. Enough apple/pastry left over to make a small apple tart for freezing later. I've also washed 10 old coffee jars and tied blue gingham ribbon bows round them ready for the small flower bunches I've got to do tomorrow. Bit disappointed when SM delivered the 5 bunches of flowers I'd ordered, 3 of alstromeria in autumn colours but 2 of chrysanthemums in shades of purple and white. Had hoped they'd be orange/yellow/umber colours to mix in with the others. They'll have to be arranged in different jars.
It's been raining again most of the day and Fri/Sat doesn't look much better. Hope Dove has a good journey home. Shame you didn't have better weather.
That's good news @Hostafan1, hope your OH is more settled and as comfortable as can be.
Not due my booster till November. Had the flu one a couple of weeks ago
Nearest Petrol station,BP, closed. Took my friend for her booster,in the shopping mall, collecting my airer at the same time. I don't think it's warm enough in winter in the UK to expose your arms to get any vit D.
@Hostafan1 I'm new here so don't know the background, but that sounds like some positive news in the midst of a very difficult time.
@Obelixx the patchwork exhibition sounds brilliant, if a bit dangerous for the pocket! Quilting is one of those hobbies I've picked up and put down too much without actually managing more than a fabric stash of doom...
No fuel here still. We have a quarter of a tank but I'll take the train to the next town to help at the postnatal group tomorrow rather than give my smaller one another reason to get out of Saturday's swimming lesson! I've started my vitD, though more for mood than immunity- my mum is insistent it should help with my depression and since winters are generally worse it's worth a go.

Cut a long story short. My husband has terminal cancer and is only expected to live for a couple of weeks. He was moved from Hospital to a Care Home 3 weeks ago, but I was only given 4 weeks funding in a care home which charges £7,000 a month.

I'm so sorry. The ravaging of the system is all the more cruel in the way it ends up targeting those already going through the worst possible times. I'm glad the funding is sorted, you really don't need that on your plate while you go through this. Wishing you much love, for what it's worth from a random internet stranger!

Exceptionally busy day, just like one in the middle of July, no rhyme or reason....nice financial boost for the end of the month. 😊
Luckily managed to make a Devil's Food Cake this morning before the rush as the cake of the day, recipe courtesy of @pansyface. Thank you. 😋
A slice anyone?

Just had my booster jab! I was offered the Flu at same time but I declined and will have in a couple of weeks.
Cake looks yummy @D0rdogne_Damsel.
I miscounted, it was 350 daffodils, not 300. I have planted 147. Feeling a bit stiff. Also mowed the veg garden area.
Tomorrow I'm going to Son 1, three little daughters, for the weekend. It's a 5 hour drive.
